Can the Rockets get an identity

This team needs an identity so badly. I know the Rockets are young and lack experience, but players need to have roles that are more defined. When Ming gets 30 touches one night and 5 then next, Steve and Cat switch between a PG and SG and two SG's all the time it is very difficult to expect consistency. I understand that matchups create problems and all, and you have to adapt, but that's not what we're seeing. We're basically seeing a team that in my opinion bows to the will of Stevie. I am a Rudy supporter, and love what he's done in the past, but I think its on him to take charge. I mean the element of surprise works, but nobody is surprised anymore. They have become too predictable, in that if you frustrate the guards they will shoot the ball, then you just hope they are under 45% from the field. Lets get Ming involved consistently.

    Dude...

    I couldn't agree more...

What the Rox lack is consistency...I'm a biased Yao fan but only when he's open and not double or triple teamed...

The Rox just need to be smart and take what the other teams give them, and they Yao will get the ball...

Uhhh...actually, Yao has been taking about 15-20 shots recently. YESTERDAY'S GAME WAS A BIG EXCEPTION because Boston just dosn't allow Yao to even touch the ball. But if you haven't noticed, we have been trying to get the ball to Yao. They all know that they will succeed if they can get it to Yao.

"Steve and Cat switch between a PG and SG and two SG's all the time it is very difficult to expect consistency" Please explain.

You are right. They need to identify their roles. But they aren't like robots.

ANYWAYS. The most consistent is Eddie Griffin. He has been 3-10 from the field the last 5 games. :)

I agree that we have an identity problem.

Are we are a guard-oriented team? Or an inside-outside team? Or a center-oriented team?

Our offense is 1-on-1 or motion offense?

We can't expect consistency when we lack an identity ourselves.

we do have an identity, inconsistent, thats us plain and simple. and yes we are more guard orientated, and yes we need to get yao the ball, and yes griff posey and rice need to hit the open jumper at least most of the time... but one more thing we have to see... we are building a dynasty here... its not going to happen over night. yao and steve have played with one another for how long? 5 months? after all it even took kobe and shaq 4 years to finaly get it right and look at them now

you cant expect noon time sunlight at 6 in the morning... you have to wait like the rest of us:cool: i got my shades on in the morning cuz i know the future is bright

Yes we are young and our players are only together for a short time. But we need to start finding and establishing an identity NOW otherwise we would never be a consistent team.

I mean we need to start finding and establishing an identity so that we can work on it from now on otherwise we would never become a consistent winning team.
