    I know the Spurs, at least during their dynasty years, played a completely different style, so I'm not comparing them in terms of their play.

    However, I can easily see this Rockets team staying together for the next 5-8 years. Money is usually the biggest destroyer of teams, but Harden's already got his max contract. And as good as Lin and Parsons and Asik get, they're not the types to demand trades to teams where they can be the highest-paid prima donna.

    Yes, the Spurs keep defying Father Time every season and stay among the elite, but one of these days, the Parker-Duncan-Ginobili trio will have to break down. So who'll be the next elite team with a stable, ego-free core? I think it's the Rockets.

    The Spurs will fade away soon, and so will the Lakers. The new order will likely be the Thunder, Grizzlies, Clippers, and yes, the Rockets.

    No. Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin have huge egos.

    The Spurs will not fade away soon.

    People have been saying they will for the last 4-5 years ago, and every year they surprise everyone.

    We're on our way. All we have to do is add a HOF big and a HOF coach.

    J-Lin= Tony Parker
    Harden= Ginobli
    Parsons= Bowen
    ???= Tim Duncan

    It sounds crazy, but we could be one GREAT big-man away from being the next Spurs type team... Kevin Love would honestly fill that slot about as best as I can think...

    But big guys aren't as useful anymore. There's no Shaq or Yao anymore to worry about.

    I think the Rockets can get away without having an all-timer at PF or C.

    Why would anyone make that comparison? Harden is obviously a blazing supernova of a star.

    If the trade never happened and Kevin Martin were still on the team but the Rockets managed to be great, then maybe the comparison would be valid.

    How can the Rox get a Tim Duncan though? That is exactly the hardest part to being the next Spurs lol.

    There is no one like a young Tim Duncan in today's nba anymore. Even the Rockets somehow got a No 1 overall pick and got to pick a highly rated prospect like Anthony Davis. He still fell way short of a Tim Duncan.

    Cousins is like the Bizarro World Tim Duncan. Similar body and skill-set, but polar opposite mental approach.

    difference is Harden is our superstar and is going to be much better than Ginobili. Ginobili is a bonafide all-star caliber player but Harden is a Superstar waiting to happen. This league doesn't have anymore prime Garnetts, Duncans, Shaqs etc... An All-star level front court player would suffice. Lets hope Asik is that one.
