Remember how everybody was saying before the season starts on how the Lakers are going to win the championship this year? Well now after more than 30 games, they are 11th in the Western conference I'm loving it Western W L PCT GB CONF DIV HOME ROAD L 10 STREAK Oklahoma 25 7 0.781 0.5 14-3 2-1 17-3 8-4 7-3 W 1 L.A. I still will be shocked if they don't make it. If they end up missing the playoffs it will be like Philadelphia last year in football.
01-06 Nuggets 01-08 Rockets 01-09 Spurs 01-11 OKC Against these potential western conference playoff teams, the Lakers will show whether they belong to the playoff or not this year.
Exactly. If the Lakers get OKC or Memphis in the 1st round, they are dead in the water. If it's the Clipps or Spurs, their chances to advance remain very small.
True. They are dangerous for maybe 1 or 2 games if they figure it out. don't have the legs, right mindset and a good bench to win 4 at this point.
It's hard to be believe a team with Kobe, Dwight, and Nash can't make the playoffs. If these guys can stay healthy, I think they find a way to make the playoffs. But even if they make it, I don't think they will go far. Dwight has to be pissed right about now, but I don't feel sorry for him one little bit. I hope the Rockets beat them on Tuesday.
This is why stacking a bunch of players on a team doesn't always equal success unless you are a genius like Pat Riley who puts the exact pieces together to build a championship team. That and Dwight Howard is seriously overrated.
Funny thing is more people felt like the Lakers were a team built better than the team the Heat built. They felt it would be easier for the Lakers to adjust. Dwight isn't overrated though I guess people forget how serious back surgery is.
Does it matter? If they face the OKC they are done. If they face the Clippers they have a very slim chance only because HCA doesn't matter since they play on the same court. If they face the Spurs or Grizzlies they have a slim chance. Overall, the odds of them making it past the first round are very very bad.
Not at this rate, we've seen what Steve Nash brings to the table, as good as he is offensively, he's a huge liability defensively while the Lakers problem lies deeply on the defensive end. Bye fakers.
