Just want to ask if this deal has chance to be revived? I like this deal very much, the Nene-Gasol frontline would be fantastic!

Not sure if there's a Doctor which specializes on such.

The fallout from Stern's reflex move will be so loud, that this deal will get put back together with a few tweeks. The Lakers will have to give up a pick, or take back Ariza's bad contract, or both. The outcry has already begun. Also, with Dwight now coming out that he wants to go to New Jersey instead of the Lakers, some of the owners may be placated that there won't be a new big 3 in LA.

How about Paul's legal action against the League? How effective will it be?

theoretically, if the NBA, acting as team owner and presumably not as regulator, rescinded the trade because of "basketball reasons" then it can be retooled or modified and approved for the same "basketball reasons". They have to specify the "basketball reasons" so that the GM can address those basketball reasons unless its the personal bias of the NBA owners in which case no amount of retooling or modification can appease them.

People forget that Pau Gasol was being considered an early MVP candidate last season. Losing Kmart and Scola for him isn't a bad trade at all. Kmart lacks defense plus a killer instinct and Scola is great, but he just isn't on Gasol's level. When Bynum was out, Gasol was the guy anchoring the defense for the Lakers. For him to put up over 18 and 10 with close to 2 blocks on a team with Bynum, Odom, Artest and ball-hogging Kobe... that says a lot.

He is a true All-Star and easily one of the best bigs in the NBA. Even without a Nene signing our team is better.

The only ones that win in that are the lawyers....CP3 signed his deal, he has to honor it.

Lakers and Rockets aren't getting screwed as badly as Chris Paul.

A man has the right to choose where he wants to work. It is not his fault that his team was bought out by the NBA. It is not his fault that Stern reneged on giving his GM the permission to trade him.

Paul has a serious case against the league office.

No, he doesn't....he signed a contract he works for the NBA, they assigned him to the New Orleans division.

He can honor that contract and move on...but he can't decide where he wants to play until he is a free agent.

Not if the man signs a contract. He didn't wanted to leave until this Lebron and Carmelo stuff started happening. The players of this league today cannot be trusted. I'm very close to being over the NBA totally, I just love basketball to much though.

He said he wanted to play for New York in the first place. Look at the haul NO got for him. Who gets screwed the most are the fans of the Hornets because if this deal doesn't pass they get NOTHING for their all star.

Does this set a bad precedent in the NBA? I think it does, I am not saying I was for or against this trade; however, if both teams agreed in principal to the trade how is this unfair? Why does it matter if small market teams (Cleveland) says its unfair, will David Stern like it if someone told him he couldnt go somwhere and work and earn a living, please give me a break this is rediculous! Most people want to go and live in big cities, why should anyone dictate where people should work; so whats next will David Stern start telling unrestricted free agents where they can sign?

    Good point.

Now, show me in the CBA or NBA rulebook where Stern has the authority to nix deals simply "because"?

Well now he's going to New York in the summer anyways, so for him its business as usual.

The party that really gets screwed the most in this is the Hornets. They wont find a better offer than the one that was on the table last night.

Its just amazing that Stern would go out of his way to dictate Paul going to New York for NOTHING essentially and sacrafice a small market teams future in the process. Goes against everything Stern was preaching during the lockout.

The problem is, if the NBA "allows" it to happen, will the Rockets still be able to sign Nene?

My brothers and friends hated the trade...

But I think daryl KNEW he could get NENE...

Your telling me you wouldnt trade Martin and Dragic for Nene and Scola and 1st pick (likey #25) for Pau Gasol??????

We still have T will, Budinger, Moris, Patterson, DMO, Flynn and Hill......

We still had the assets to go trade for Josh Smith, or a Iggy... I hope they push this deal through!!!
