Can someone please tell me what Walt Williams purpose is?

This guy is so inconsistent it is pathetic. Not only is he missing wide open 3s he cant hit a freaking layup. And lets not even talk about his defensive liability while he plays his "matador defense".

And why in the hell does Rudy leave him in so long? I am starting to question Rudy's substitutions as well and his coaching ability. I used to defend him in the past but now I am starting to wonder.

That's what I was wondering. Why was he allowed to stay in so long, and what's wrong with Bullard. He might be able to hit an outside shot.

Walt's bad play has coincided with the impending trade deadline. Hmnnn.

If Walt would have hit just one of his wide open 3s tonight, the Rockets would have won.

I would pay someone to take him off our hands because he just is plain sorry. I hate to talk about any Rocket but I wish they would just waive his b*tt.

I also wish Los could get more playing time because he has earned it. He didn't play too bad a defense on Tim and he was active on the boards and in general.

The only way this night will improve is if Doc Rocket comes in here and says "Walt serves an EXTREMELY useful purpose, or at least he will soon."

All of us are thinking it's Shareef or something that will make us party in the streets. Really, I just hope it's Walt leaving. [IMG]

    I'm just pissed, though. [IMG]

That's just Rudy's coaching philosophy. He'll stay with the player, and show confidence in him. If you were a player, you would be much more comfortable knowing that you won't get yanked after missing a few shots.

Still, I wish Danforth would play some more. He's not gonna get that much better sittin on the bench. Don't play him in the 4th because he doesn't have enough experience, but at least play him like the last minutes of 1st or 2nd quarter or something.

Staying with a player is fine, except when he is cold as hell and we are in the 4th quarter of a tight game.

Maybe Rudy's liking some of this years picks?

Unfortunately, I have a feeling that the trade probably fell through since neither the Doc or Clutch has posted any more clues for a while. I hope somebody proves me wrong, but in my opinion, no news is bad news.

Right now I'd trade Walt for a couple of knee braces, some sweatbands, and a new Gatorade bucket for the locker room with that performance...that is, if we could get that much for him.

If I had to hazard a guess, Walt was in for his outside shooting. With SA collapsing on defense our best offense revolved around the perimeter game. Since the Spurs were going with Rose at the 3, it wouldn't make sense to keep Shandon(at least Walt made a shot) in there, or bring Lanky off the bench. Perhaps you could argue for KT, but that takes away a potential perimeter threat, and KT wasn't finishing real well.

But 1 for 10? I'll take Matt Bullard or Shandon over that in the 4th quarter. I think part of Walt's shooting problem has been rushing the shot...he did it at least a couple of times. He lets go of the ball before he looks at the goal.
