Hi, are there any teams still available in this league? Please let me know. ------------------ "I'm not the only person in this league who thinks they're dirty.", -- Steve Francis on the Utah Jazz "When point guards come to Houston now, they go to sleep the night before. Ok I looked at the previous posts and I believe the only team left is the Hornets now. Can I be the GM of the Hornets? Please let me know. Thank you for your time. ------------------ "I'm not the only person in this league who thinks they're dirty.", -- Steve Francis on the Utah Jazz "When point guards come to Houston now, they go to sleep the night before. I dunno? I'm just going by what was on the website, which had the Hornets as the only team still available. If you do have them sorry for the confusion. ------------------ "I'm not the only person in this league who thinks they're dirty.", -- Steve Francis on the Utah Jazz "When point guards come to Houston now, they go to sleep the night before. SF3, You did see the team roster on the page right? Just checking so that you don't expect to have Mashburn, Wesley, etc... you'll have to rebuild through the draft. However, if you want them, they're yours. And this makes it a FULL league now. Didn't think we'd ever get there... P.S.-- Please ignore BGM's friend-- trust me on this one. ------------------ "Basketball players win basketball games. I agree with Sammie here. ------------------ I have just realized that the stakes are myself I have no other ransom money, nothing to break or barter but my life my spirit measured out, in bits, spread over the roulette table, I recoup what I can nothing else to shove under the nose of the maître de jeu nothing to thrust out the window, no white flag this flesh all I have to offer, to make the play with this immediate head, what it comes up with, my move as we slither over this go board, stepping always (we hope) between the lines
Rimmy and Sammie, I agree too, but I don't know what other people on the BBS would be interested in joining, and I'd rather a full league than empty teams. The Raptors may be soon available, and the Bucks may as well if Thrilla doesn't comeback sometime soon. If you can find some people to join, I'll try and fit them in, cause as well all know there are several teams in the league but not very active... ------------------ "Basketball players win basketball games. Rimmy always has my back. Cat, if you are truly worried about filling the league, you could always advertise in the hangout thread again, or send individual emails to various posters (ZRB sounds like a good candidate). Thrilla was (is) one of those guys who joined the BBS for the sole purpose of this sim, and I think that type of guy is more likely to leave suddenly. Here's another thought - what about getting some of the guys from Bobfinn's sandbox leagues? I mean, since we're in their forum and all. ------------------ Bingbong was set up, led to an untimely death in the prime of his life for no other reason than pure malice. That would be funny. Some of them already seem bitter that Cat's league has pretty much taken over the forum...now we start recruiting their GM's too. ------------------ CC.NET Sim League Web Page My Team (Sonics) Feeling claustrophobic, like the walls are closing in. Cat, Yes I saw the roster for the Hornets, but I don't care I'll take them anyways. Please let me know what I need to do to get them. Thanks. [This message has been edited by SteveFrancis3 (edited June 13, 2001).]
yo guys my friend is here and he said he'll take either Bucks or Raptors whci ever team is available thx cat ------------------ ***FRANCHISE***
SF3 I think you got them. Come by the chat if you wanna talk. CK ------------------ CC.Net Sim Homepage For stats, standings and team information.
Well, that is only true if kbm doesn't quit. If he quits, someone will have to take over the Raptors... then it will be full league. ------------------ CC.NET Sim League Web Page My Team (Sonics) Feeling claustrophobic, like the walls are closing in. Cat, i thought u reserved the Hornets for my friend that i told you about.... he said hed post today around 4:30 est so does he still get them? ------------------ ***FRANCHISE***
Franchise, Sorry dude-- I didn't say I'd reserve them. I said if he posted he could have them, but it's always been first come first serve for teams and it's going to stay that way. Raven, Where did KBM say he's thinking of quitting? Why? ------------------ "Basketball players win basketball games. I don't think its a good idea to bring non cc.net friends to the league. Having people register for the bbs for the sole purpose of participating here seems like the tail wagging the dog, for some reason. Plus there is always the chance for collusion/bi-uids... ------------------ Bingbong was set up, led to an untimely death in the prime of his life for no other reason than pure malice. kbm said in chat last night that he was quitting because he thought that the league had a lot of problems that needed fixing (like the common draft, and hiding players from it). None of us really agreed with him, which is why he wanted to quit, I guess. He thought there was problems, no one else did, so he knew these "problems" would never get addressed. Maybe it was just him mad for something or other, and speaking without thinking about it, but he said that he was still going to watch the progress of the league, but he wasn't going to be involved anymore. The fact that he hasn't posted anything about it yet makes me wonder if he changed his mind... ------------------ CC.NET Sim League Web Page My Team (Sonics) Feeling claustrophobic, like the walls are closing in. KBM, So you quit without asking me about any of the problems? Last time I checked I was supposed to make decisions on most of these things... if you have a problem with the league tell me. Furthermore, we have to find a balance in the league. While some of your ideas are good, I have to do what is best for the league, and that consists of opinions from myself, you, and the other GMs. I'm sure everyone here has a view of what the perfect league will be-- the problem is they vary, and it is impossible to get a league where everyone is 100% pleased with the way things are run. All I can do is mix together ideas and let everyone's ideas get incorporated in some fashion, and I try to do that. You should know when you join a league, club, or any group that not everyone sees problems or events in the same light that you do, but you have to move on. Don't start what you can't finish. I'm sure everyone has their opinions on what could make the league better, but I don't think there's any way that the things you think need to be changed can outweigh the positives that are going well for us. You've been one of the better GM's since the league started, and I'd hate to see you quit like this... stay in man!!! ------------------ "Basketball players win basketball games.
