He is really borderline. I think he might make it, might not. He plays 29 min a game, second to Paul, and has 5th most points with 9.2. Has great clutch play too. But none of his stats are really great after that. He doesnt really dunk or drive that great, not a great shooter(anymore), and he just doesnt stand out. Do yall think he will sneak in. A couple more good games or some consistency would help.
If he cant drive, dunk, or isnt a great shooter(anymore), and his stats arent great then why would you want him in the All-Star game besides the fact that he is a Rocket.
Its too close to call right now. Rookie guards include Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Salim Stoudamire, Sarunas Jasikevicius, Nate Robinson. They will choose 5 most likely and Williams and Paul are the only looks. But since the game is in Houston, I think Luther has the edge but Nate Robinson is playing great lately.
Honestly I worry more about when this team will win another game again more than which players will make the Allstar game.
Thats why i doubt head can get in. There are so many great rookie gaurds out there - Chris Paul, deron williams, that 30 year old european(hopefully he turns down an invitation like that), Salim Stoudamire, nate robinson, and raymond felton. Head's numbers are up a little, but he has changed from the guy at the beginning of the year. He isnt that outside shooter anymore.
I think that his shootong has been affected greatly by the absence of Yao and McGrady. When they are there they demand double man coverage giving Head an open shot. Their presence on the floor makes everyone else play better!
Head has had many open 3s and he actually shoots the ball really well with a hand right in his face. I dont see how Yao has hurt him that much. He took 6 threes tonight, and he made none. Infact, he didnt score a single point. THis kid isnt goin to the allstar game. Head is loosing minutes, and expect him to continue. I thought he could stay in the rotation even when our players return, but it looks doubtful now. He has a very inconsistent game.
Here's hoping it's something he'll work out of. He is a rookie, albeit a very seasoned one by now.
