Why does Walt start ahead of Eddie? We already have a 4 (Taylor) and a 5 (Cato) locked into long-term, big money deals, so it's clear to me that Eddie is our 3. It's also clear that Walt will not be with us next year and that Eddie is our future. I also believe that Eddie is better than Walt right now in terms of shooting, rebounding, and defense. How can Walt be getting anymore than 10 minutes a night? How can Eddie be getting less than 35? Is it that we're trying to showcase Walt for a trade? If so, I don't think anymore 0 for 10 nights will raise his stock. I know Rudy is a players' coach who has a soft touch with veterans, but isn't it about time we benched Walt and give Eddie the keys?
Eddie did have the keys for 48 mintues thursday night. Maybe Rudy was resting him a little bit at the get go. I also heard that Rudy liked the match up of Walt on Rose to start the game.It just didn't turn out the way Rudy had hoped.(see Walts shooting percentage).
Eddie has not played 3 at all this year so why is it so hard to understand that he is a 4. It is that simple.
1. Variable reinforcement is the best way to learn. 2. Taking the pressure off-- a long-term outlook.
