I had a Panasonic HDR-TM90K camcorder which was pretty good. Unfortunately, it met a new friend. The pavement. So I am in the market for a new camcorder. I will use it to make some home videos of my toddler like I have with my older camera. However, now i want some advanced features/manual controls to control the depth of focus, better audio quality, etc. From preliminary research, I have narrowed down my choices to: Canon HF G20 - The best low light performance, light and compact however no 1080p/60p and expensive ($1100). Sony CX760V - Excellent low light performance, colors, 5.1 audio, best stabilizer,96GB internal MEM, can do 60p, included viewfinder, however very expensive ($1500), and slightly bgger and heavier. Sony PH710V - Pretty much same as CX760 but without the viewfinder, lower MEM, cheaper price ($1300) than 760V. Instead comes with a built in projector. Sony GW77V - Light, small, rugged, excellent quality, can do 60p, waterproof(submersible upto 16 ft.), cheap ($600), however lacking controls and the audio quality of the other two Sony's? Also the stabilization is good but not as good as the other two Sony's? I am really interested in the GW77V, however I am afraid to buy it and later regret not going with the other three which might have more features and controls. Anyone here have any first hand experience with the above cams?
why not get the same one again or were you not happy with it? I have a similar Panasonic (can't remember the exact model) and have liked it
I was talking about video quality. Events cover a broader spectrum than just concerts and sports also, punctuation fail. You don't need a comma between referencing of two things, i.e. "concerts, sporting events".

For what will you be using the camera, Z? - never mind... I re-read your OP. I am wondering if you need to have special attachments, lights on hot shoes, microphone jacks, etc. I do some video editing and recording on the side, but it's with an XF105. You are right, I would have used "or" or "and", but I was mocking the above posts. FAIL, yes... on purpose... or NO?
