Lots of debate about Cam Newton being one of the most dominant college football players ever, he has a similar mold to Vince Young. Vince is up there with the greatest college football players of all time. Cam doesn't have a NC yet but could very well have one soon. Running: VY>Cam Passing: VY=Cam Do you guys agree? Running: VY > Cam Newton without a doubt. At UT, VY was faster and more elusive than Newton. Newton is more of a powerful, punishing runner. Passing: Cam Newton > VY without a doubt. His arm strength blows VY away and he's more accurate. I'll take the suggestion above and wait until after the BCS Championship game to make a decision on who was better. Newton has an impossible act to follow, but lets give him the chance.
He did it for two. He averaged more rushing yards in 05 but had more yards in 04. He didn't play nearly as much in 05 because they blew everyone but A&M and USC out. He had 1000 more passing yards in 05 though. 05 was definitely better but you are delusional if you don't think he was very good for 2 years.
By "it", I assumed he meant absolutely dominating at the highest level. In that case, Vince's 12 TDs -- 11 picks ratio in 2004 doesn't cut it for me.
Look at the average TD run. Tebow was just a fullback inside the 20. Vince was a gamebreaker from anywhere. I saw a chart awhile back that had all the TD runs for both QBs and it was ridiculous how many long ones Vince had and Tebow had like one from outside the 25 and the bulk at the goal line. Vince has more rushing yards than Tebow even though Tebow had over 200 more attempts. Vince averaged 6.8 yards per carry, Tebow had 4.2.
