If they won't let him commentate, let him coach. If Avery Johnson can do it, Calvin will only be better.
I remember going to Calvin's basketball camp back in the year he got into the HOF which I think was '92. He taught a lot of what I know about playing basketball. But I suck so he's obviously not a good coach/teacher.
Head coach: John Lucas Asst Coaches: Mario Elie, Calvin Murphy Player/Coach: Sam Cassell Special Instructor: Hakeem Olajuwon Make it happen! Evan
I'd rather hire someone who can teach the whole freaking team how to drive to the basket instead of shooting 3 pointers.
dude. come on. you know Calvin played when THERE WAS NO THREE POINT LINE?!?! The Rockets began play in the NBA in San Diego during the 1967-68 season, their nickname reflecting the growth of the space-age industries in the city. San Diego drafted Rudy Tomjanovich with the second overall pick of the 1970 NBA Draft and selected Calvin Murphy with the first pick in the second round that year.
Point guards make excellent head coaches. They are the generals, they know the plays. They know the ebb and flow of the game. They know defenses cause they look at them all the time and have to figure out how to break them down. Mo Cheeks or Andrew Toney.
Shoot if your going to open it up let me begin.... 1. Trade Tracy McGrady for Steve Nash, Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa Trade Machine Link 2. Trade Yao Ming, John Lucas, Juswan Howard, Rafer Alston for Kevin Garnett.. Trade Machine Link #2 Why Because it works .. Salaries match and all
yeah bring in a coach with no experience....(sarcasm).....im glad none of you are running the rockets.... sometimes I wonder how many of you actually keep up with basketball before commenting on here..... Lets name Calvin Murphy coach....GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
