Can someone explain to me why can't Calvin Murphy return to color commentator? I know with recent allegations he went through that led him to resign from commentating, but knowing Calvin, I know he enjoys commentating. So, is this a Rockets decision to not let him come back indefinitely or what?
I used to think Calvin was annoying. I guess you don't realize what you have until it's gone. A Worrell, Barry, and Calvin trio would be fun.
If I recall, Les fired him when he first bought the team, but the backlash caused him to hire him back. It was only a matter of time once the bad press started about Calvin and his daughters. That was Les' way to do it. Maybe he never liked him from the beginning.
Yeah Les never liked him. But I'd expect Murph to be back in 5 years or so, when everyone pretty much will be missing him and have forgotten about his troubled past.
**RUMOUR**RUMOUR** I heard a rumour that the ROX and Murph may be working on a deal that would put them back on speaking terms...thats ALL I've heard. So, not sure if it would lead back to Color or not. Thats just what I've heard from someone who knows him. take it for what its worth to ya.
Troubled past? The guy was found innocent and most of his family was staunchly defending him. He should be back on the broadcast right now.
