Does anybody notice how Calvin always knows whats going to happen? This time, in the 3rd quarter, he said we were going to win. I believed it and look what happened, we won. That is crazy.

Calvin is very knowledgable of the game. I don't know how many times he's correctly predicted the next play we were going to run. I seriously think he would make a great coach in this league.

I agree. Calvin is uncanny. The man knows his stuff.
Calvin says, "The Rocks better not leave player X open or they're gonna get burned." Next play, player X nails an open shot.

Calvin says, "The Rocks need to take advantage of that mismatch and get Kenny the ball." Next play, KT blows past his defender for an easy bucket.

As goofy as Cavlin looks and acts, if you listen to his commentary the man is genius. I konw a lot of folks hate him but he knows his ball.

I like Calvin alot...but most of his statements like this are usually made in the fourth quarter after player X has lit the Rockets up for 34 points.

I don't think Calvin would like being a coach. He's very old school and I don't think most of today's players would appreciate his style. Plus, I think he likes being a "fan" too much. (Not to mention...no cookies on the bench):D

Forget Calvin...Now, Lisa Malosky is a basketball genius. She said the funniest thing while doing the first half highlights at halftime, she said "Walt Williams drives to the hoop, because.....they let him!"

Really, Lisa? They LET him? I'm sure Walt has the special "Wizard exemption" that prevents anybody from playing defense when he has the ball, thus "letting him" go to the rack all night long...

Next up on the Rockets halftime report...How can the Rockets get Calvin Cato more involved in the offense? :)

I gotta disagree w/ you there. Calvin talks through scenarios all the time and it is uncanny how often it happens on the very next play...not just at some point later. It's almost as freaky as Bill's freethrow jinx...but not quite. Calvin also spells out rather complex scenario's such as a particular pick/roll play or pointing out that the other team is playing the passing lanes or whatever. Low and behold next play the team gets a steal in the passing lane. The guy blows me away.

    :)

Calvin is a basketball genius! He knows the game inside and out! If he was not such a dork and knew how to dress, he would be a great Xs and Os type coach. In fact, I would probably bring him on as an assistant, but we would have to see about Head Coach...he ought to at least be a consultant!

He also knows how to shoot a free throw, does anybody know if he is helping some of the players in that category?

It's interesting you say that. I've noticed several times when players look over to Calvin on a missed FT or a really bad shot as to look for help or to appologize. Other times, you'll see Calvin talk to a player giving some advice.

It's nice to know he doesn't just tell the audience what's about to happen next...he helps the players too sometimes.

I can only imagine how much he's involved before and after games when the camera is off.

That quote right there proves krosfyah is Calvin. Calvin cannot say something without the first two words in the sentance being "It's interesting".....

    Those two are hilarious.

That would be a fight just waiting to happen! About the 3rd time Barkley said something insulting to Calvin, Calvin would go postal. Bill knows when to insult and then back-up. Barkley wouldn't.

Au contraire, sometimes Calvin starts sentences with,"You know, Bill, it's interesting.."
