As a Rocket fan, have we lost our minds.

We paid Dream $31 mil over 2 years and did not reach the playoffs. Dream missed a significant number of games. Agree to retire, then unretired. Ask CD and Rudy to keep the team together and then broke out like Maurice Green in the 100 meters for a couple of million more in higher tax bracket country. An amibicale split is okay. Put the poision pill down.

Next move, sign Marc Jackson, Shammond Williams, and Maurice Taylor. Do not pay more than $3 mil per season for Moochie or Shandon period. Remember, we did not make the playoffs with Shandon or Moochie and there offense very erractic. No more Cato type mistakes. We need hustle and role players to surround Steve, Cat, and Eddie. That's how we won championships in the past. Dream and Clyde with support from Robert, Kenny, Sam, and Mario.

Shammond will definitely replace Moochie and is a much better shooter with polish from North Carolina. Marc will provide the best insurance when Cato does not show up, which will happen 81 out of 82 games.

Resign Mo Taylor for no more than $6 mil, Mo Taylor does not work in the off season to better his conditioning, his waist line looks like a doughnut.

A team made up of the following, will allow us to finish 7th or 8th in the Western Conference

    Steve/Shammond
    Cuttino/Langhi/Walt Williams
    Shandon/Bullard/T Morris
    Maurice/EG/Kenny Thomas
    Cato/Marc Jackson/Jason Collier

I hope, I'm not missing anyone. This will require Walt and Jason on IR.

i'd take shammond over moochie in a heartbeat. in fact, if anyone remembers, i called for mahmoud abdul-rauf over moochie months ago.

moochie is a fan favorite and a decent point guard, true. but i still thinks he pounds the ball entirely too much. by contrast, cuttino dribbles waiting for the opportunity to drive from the wing. moochie, all too often, is pounding the ball while running in circles. it's almost globetrotter-esque at times.

anyhoo, shammond (carolina alum, woohoo!) would be an upgrade, to me. he runs a good point guard and is a better shooter.

as for motay, let's not underestimate his value. while, yes, he could stand to shape up, he's not exactly john "hot plate" williams. his bulk allows him to play good position defense, and obviously doesn't slow him from getting around pf defenders.

Can anyone give further detail on Shammond's contract situation? Is he a free agent right now waiting to be picked up by a team?

Haven, don't be ridiculous. Are you trying to compare Moochie and Shandon to Steve? Who's being silly now.

Shandon and Moochie on a scale of 1 to 10 would be rated a 6 and 5 respectively, which is average in my book and there are plenty of hungry players in the league that would gladly accept a "guaranteed" contract for $3 or $4mil per season.

Who would have rather paid more for Hakeem or Shandon and Moochie who are requesting much more than what Dream was asking for. Teams actually paid attention to Dream when he played. The left Shandon and Moochie wide open during the season with marginal results.

The numbers don't lie, agents do.

I kind of think that's one of the reasons why he SHOULD get the big money! Well maybe not big money, but I don't mind paying to see his fro, and knee highs back on the team, plus that amazing tripple overtime win against Indiana last year.

by the time we're done arguing who should be paid how much, there'll be no one to overpay. i sure hope the rockets management dont visit clutchcity to hear out the fans opinions and thoughts.
i dont know just how much mo t really 'fits' in the rockets offence, but i'd do a mo and shandon sign & trade to anywhere for a decent pf/c.

Shammond Williams had at one time (I don't know if he does anymore) a pretty big fro himself. So, if we get him but lose Moochie we still have some hair. However, we may want to consider picking up Ben Wallace to replace Carlos Rogers because if we don't, that's another fro to replace. :D

Seriously, Shammond, imo, is just as good or better than Moochie. I wouldn't put up with any s*** from Fegan, so if I was Moochie, I would either get rid of Fegan or I would start looking for some other place to play. I have a feeling that Walt will be traded or released. The Rockets have only kept him so far just in case they don't sign anybody.

man532, I have no idea where you came from, but I love your ruthless practicality. Most guys come in here plugging their favorite Rocket, worshipping this or that free agent, and sketching a plan to get us back to the finals. You, on the other hand, come in with a per-player budget, saying that you'll take anyone of acceptable quality who will play for that amount, that you'll cut loose fan favorites who hold out for more, and -- here's the kicker -- if all goes according to your plan, we'll barely escape the lottery.

Webber, Hakeem, Moochie. Enough delusions. Enough sentimentality. Enough panic. I'm with you.
