1. Darryl Morey hasn't even said that Yao will be injured for that long so for all we know, Yao could be ready first game of the season. 2. Even if Yao is hurt, isn't this the same team that was able to take the LA Lakers, the eventual NBA champs, into 7 games? Aren't yall the same people that said, "hey, maybe we play just as good without Yao then we do with him" 3.Our GM is Darryl Morey. Has he ever done wrong? No. He always has something else up his sleeve.
that would be good for me to. that way I don't have to worry about injuried Rockets and I don't have to worry about my portfolio.
Darryl Morey hasn't said anything cause he doesn't want the public to know about it. But deep down, you know his greatest fear is lurking.
For your sake and for mine, get out of denial. Yes, everything you said is true but. 1. Morey hasn't said anything, but he also hasn't denied anything, in fact the only person from the Rockets who has spoke said that "he wasn't surprised by the news." sounds like the information is true to me. 2. Yes we did take them to 7 games, but a lot more went into those games. there is a difference in going out any playing with heart and a "lets win this one for Yao and to prove the haters wrong!" for 2 games, and doing it for an 82 game season, people seem to forget that yeah we beat the lakers twice without Yao, but we also got destroyed twice. 3. I have no doubt Morey will continue making great moves, but losing Yao for the season or longer was not part of his plan and it will be hard to overcome on short notice wouldn't you agree?
Sorry, but f-ck that. I feel like I'm going to barf. "Never underestimate the power of denial." Some of you need to just wake up already.
Denial. Even if Morey hasn't said anything, we all know that Yao is pretty much done. If this injury doesn't get him the next foot injury next season will. It is just a matter of time. Too much weight. I suspect this is why they said Yao would lose weight before next season. Anyone remember that thread?
I'm calm. We've got studs like boxing sensation, Jermaine Taylor, and Sergio LULZ waiting in the wings. We've also got an ex-volleyball player that went from phenom to mid-second round pick. McGrady's lookin' good, too, in his recent pictures. By good, I mean fat and washed up.
A lot can change in a year of rest and rehabilitation. I have faith. I am breaking our my rosary in 5...4...3...2...1
Fail. It has now been confirmed: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mplkn/6503064.html Clanton expected the hairline fracture that ended Yao’s season, his fourth bone injury in the past four seasons, to have healed when Yao returned from China for a CT scan last week. Instead, it not only healed, but Clanton said it grew worse. He said doctors will also try to determine whether Yao has suffered a loss of blood supply in the area, causing the injury to heal more slowly.
Can someone find me that panic button, oh and lets see how many espn articles we can get that say "Houston, we have a problem".
i don't mind AT ALL if yao misses HALF the season. i mean, so long as he makes it back for the entire playoffs and the end of the regular season, i'd be happy.
Soooo long Yao. Have fun fishing. So what now? Beg for Amare now? Morey trying so hard to get Rubio is starting to make sense....rebuild. Sigh.
Exactly...if we didnt have Yao for as many games as he played for us last season, I dont think we even make it to the second round to play the Lakers
With no Yao and Tracy and possibly no Ron for 41 games, what would our record be? I'll say 15-26 but honestly feel like that is a bit generous.
.500 against the world champs without Yao or Tracy or Deke? I'd say the glass is more than half full.
Haven't read much of the threads and stuff, but it's nice to see the boards hyperactive again! I'm thinking this is why we went after Amare. Wonder whether Yao will be able to play again someday.
