Am I missing something, or is that not the same deal that was denied??

    Manny, clear up the confusion!

Who knows, it's all smoke and mirrors with Scott Boras.

It's sorta the same but the whole issue originally was how it was supposed to be paid out.. Supposedly the back end of the contract was going to be paid out in 3 year installments and that is the reason for the hold up...

They probably said ok how about 2 years and performance bonuses :( Jesus is Manny that good?

I'm amazed Manny is so greedy. Yeah, I can understand to an extent "you gotta get paid while you still can" philosophy but you've made what? $100+ million?

Don't you think it's time to I don't know, not bend teams over backwards on a payroll? That and the fact that Manny has Bor@$$ for an agent doesn't help at all.

I'm fairly certain GM's punch a hole through the wall when they hear Boras.

Manny really thought someone was going to overpay and give him a long term deal after his finish with the Dodgers.

What's baffling is that there are literally no other bidders, yet LA seems content to pay him $45M over two years.

I will root for the Dodgers to crash and burn just because they signed Manny.

I think it's just a manner of the deferred money. In the Dodger's original offer, Manny was only going to get around $12 or $13 million per season, with the balance deferred over the next 10 years.

With the deferred money, all the bellyaching in Boston to get out of those $20M option years would've been a wash. He already made $160M with Boston, but he acted like a jerk to squeeze out a few more dollars.
