Alright I know there are a lot of guys in here that are musically inclined. Some of you have taken it further and actually record your stuff. And then some of you take it even further and record stuff that is worth a damn. That's who I am talking to right now. As some of you may or may not know I am working for the Chronicle shooting videos and then editing them for chron.com/sports. I like to put music in my videos because to me it makes the story telling a little more interesting. Well I would like to feature music from Houston bands (or bands that are interested in Houston you out-of-towners). I can't pay anything but I will include you in the credits and have an mtv-styled pop up when your music is playing. We get a TON of hits on these videos, especially the high school football ones, in the thousands every week and some of them significantly more than that. How about some rocking alt-country? I don't think blues would be good unless you were writing about Rice or TSU's football teams...
You know genre is not even that important...hell I thought the Irish jig by White Stripes sounded sweet!!!!

check out houston based hip hop band Lower LIfe Form. they have recently added a live band to their act, kind of like a Dirty South version of the Roots... I'm sure you have heard of them, the Chron and the Houston Press recently did stories on them

yeah absolutely. and I will check the bands listed in the thread. Hip hop would be awesome if there are some folks with the flow.
As much as I might prefer aiff's or wav's 128 mp3s will be more than sufficient with the compression of the video and audio. I think the final output is only stereo 64's but I like them as 128's. I thought you might have some good stuff JB.
