    What about Spree?

Ok, ok, it sounds stupid but let's weigh the pros and cons.

    PROS

    -19.4 ppg
    -Can play the three
-Viable scoring option if Steve is out
-Knicks are looking to move he and Travis Knight -We move one of our logjammers and Cato(salaries work)

    CONS

-25 mill over the next 2 years
    -32 years old
    -Needs touches
    -Lockeroom?

    Am i tripping?

I would trade Rice, Cato and Mo Taylor for Spree, Kurt Thomas and Knight.. That would work out..

Yeah, it would work out great......for us. Would the Knicks do it? I don't think so.

I love Sprewell's game. If the Rox can get him here for a bargain-basement price, that would be fantastic.

    But it won't happen.

    You're a dumbass.
    Spree's a SG. Cuttino's a SG
Cuttino's cheaper, Cuttino's younger, Cuttino will get better.
    Understand?

i like how spree plays in all, but i think he's still to small to play small forward. i think his is a pure shooting guard.

Oh my bad, what was I thinking, SPREE HAS NEVER PLAYED THE THREE.

Do you know anything about line-ups other that the Rockets?

The Knicks went to the Championship a few years ago with Spree playing mostly at the three.

    Ever heard of Alan Houston?

You are not a dumbass or trippin....

Spree is a fine player but he has been a problem child who costs way too much. His shooting % is sub-standard and he attitude leaves much to be desired.

I would have to say NO THANKS...:) :) :)

I hear what you are saying playa, but we really don't need Spree. He would be nice and could play the 3 all day long, but don't know if that would work out. It would be tempting getting Cato out of town, but Cato isn't that bad. ( Not worth what he's getting either) Tough call though.

    c- griffin

Oh my bad, Spree was playing out of position...silly me
Maybe you didn't know that. Maybe you didn't know Spree's not supposed to be playing the three, he doesn't want to play the three.
Yeah I'm taking it from the guy saying we should trade Cato, our only secure center option, for an aging SHOOTING GUARD worse than Cuttino who would screw with chemistry and is overpaid.
I know about line-ups other than the Rockets, do you?

    Another Brother:

sprewell at the 3 would be a better option than any thing else we have on our roster. add in the fact that he is one of the the absolute quickest getting up and down the court, and you have improved our offense immensely.

    would i take him? absolutely.

at what cost though? cato, kt, moochie, etc. are all we really have to offer and i believe the knicks could do a lot better than that hodge podge collection of scrubs and misfits.

    tozai:

you say that sprewell would be playing out of position right? ok, answer this: what option do we have at small forward that would be better than latrell?

griff?: no handles whatsoever and limited lateral movement, especially on the perimeter.
nachbar?: rookie with a euro reputation for having no defense
    rice?: umm, no.
cat?: even more undersized @ 3 than sprewell would be
kt?: sprewell's better defensively and offensively than kt @ the 3

so tell us again why sprewell would be a bad option for the rockets at the 3...

Of course I would take Sprewell theoretically, but he's saying trade Cato for him. That's stupid because we'd have no center. I'm not discrediting Ming, but we can't put all our eggs...
Anyways, Sprewell would demand too many touches, is too expensive unless we unloaded Rice, and might have bad chemistry. Of course he's a good player and better than all of our 3's, but it'd be stupid for us.

Dang someone edited my post while you weren't looking they had Travis Knight in the deal too, arguably a center that is just as 'whatever' as Cato is.

Sorry, team knowledge isn't your problem, reading comprehension is.

And who cares what he WANTS to play anyway?

i'm going to assume, just as AB has, that you didn't see that travis knight would be included in that deal. yes, i know. he sucks. but cato does, too.

No I saw Travis Knight. That guy is beyond Cato, that guy is down there with Chris Dudley. I didn't even mention him, because he's as viable a center option as Jason Collier. Give me a break. You all may think Cato sucks, but he really isn't that bad. He's just way overpaid. He was actually producing some double-doubles and has shown improvement. Only ignorant band-wagon fans will go, Wah Wah Cato sucks. Until Ming proves something, Cato is what we got and he's a hell of alot better than Travis Knight. Ugh.....

Who cares what he wants to play? I think he does. The ball cannot go around enough with him in here along with Cuttino AND Steve plus Eddie, Mo, Ming.....

No matter how you spin it TOE ZEE, cato sucks.

Knight is probably a worse player, but I would take him and his salary over Cato 7 days a week, and twice on sunday.

True Cato has had a few double-doubles and I admire the fact the Steve is sticking up for him but face it dude, his dubs have been primarily in blow-out situations and he has the worse hands of any big man in the league.
