Calexit - California wants to secede from the Union

That would be pretty funny. I hope they do.

 

A kooky idea, IMO. But who knows where it goes in this new world. Doubt the other 49 states would approve, anyway.

Still, there are some Silicon Valley minds who wouldn't just be OK with a Calexit but would probably continue pursuing their ideas about splitting the state into independent states.

 

As an American I hope they don't. Many great institutions of top tier research and education in the state along with two of the most recognized and innovating companies on the planet(Google and Apple) and countless start ups founded by graduates of those same great institutions such as Caltech. As an American, why do you wish to loose that?

Oh obviously it won't happen. But it's fun seeing conservatives here who actually believe that California is a determinant to this nation even though all objective evidence pretty much states quite literally the complete 180 degree opposite.

 

Anyway, If California decided to secede, anything worthwhile in the state would instantly leave and head to the US and even if they didn't, it wouldn't take long for the new fledgling country to go broke or like happened the last time a state decided to secede, be attacked by the US.

I do enjoy the ridiculous level of butt hurt from the left though. It's made an idiot like Trump becoming president almost worth it. Hell the last time Democrats were this upset at Republicans it was after they got their slaves taken away from them. History shows that upset Democrats is almost always universally good.

K so it's also accurate that Southern Conservatives compromised majority of slave owners and the same strain of ideology is at home with the Republican Party. How many modern day Democrat voters have a Confederate flag bumper sticker and how many modern day Republican voters have a Confederate flag bumper sticker?
