What a great story that Cal State-Fullerton has just won the college world series. I mean, they took a kid out of the tough streets of East LA and turned him into a fabulous pitcher (Romero), and then their all-american catcher was a former walk-on who worked hard and became the Oakland A's 2nd round draft choice. I'm so happy for CSF. They really showed that they were the top team in Omaha this year.
Unless you're from UT or Cal St. Fullerton, why would anyone even care about the College World Series? When you are needling people about college baseball, you've confirmed your irrelevance.
Yep, Cal State Fullerton started the season below .500, and fought their way back to the championship. The Texas Longhorns have nothing to be ashamed of, they were just beaten by a better team. At least they got to the World Series again. It's hard to do that, what three years in a row now??? While other teams have faded away after one successful season, the Longhorns have not.
You have got to be kidding me. I am a huge fan of college baseball and follow many teams throughout the year. That is why I care about the CWS every year, no matter who is there. I almost went up to Omaha this year despite my personal favorite team not being there. Give me a break. I'm not sure where your insult came from, but I'll be the bigger man here and ignore it.
Definitely agree. CS-F had the best team in the country when it counted. I thought we could have played better yesterday, but we've afforded similar opportunities to opponents all season long and none took advantage of it the way Cal State did. Great work by a great team.
Awesome weekend... good year by all the teams involved... I rooted for Cal State.. and was excited to see them win.. (if my team isn't involved I root for the underdogs usually... just more fun).. It was an amazing game.. I thought that pitcher was done mid way through the first.. and he managed to come back and pitch a complete game... congrats to the horns on a great year.. after seeing them in the superregional I was very impressed.. hope to get another game vs texas down the road.. hopefully on my teams home field at some ponit.. I'm sure texas will continue to be one of the best year after year..
Texas kinda choked throughout their line up (sans their two starters) and lost sight of fundamental baseball, but the Titans deserved it. They were headier and clutcher all weekend, if we were going to lose, I am glad it was to a team like them. 3 years, 3 college world series, 1 title, 1 runner up--can't complain about that. At least the Horns make a habit of taking their immensely loaded teams to Omaha and winning their fair share.
That's what I love about college baseball. You get a hot pitcher and a couple of clutch hits and you can beat anybody.
