Did anyone see that group of 10 Texas fans who drove in a car to be at the game today? They interviewed them about 15 minutes ago. Freakin' awesome.
Didn't want to start another thread, but Tennessee just tied Auburn at 21 late in the third. EDIT: Auburn just scored again, 28-21.
just said that is what college football is all about... said that UT was going to a BCS game because So. Miss was going to win.
Its hillarious... they've showed the UT fans more than they've showed So. Miss fans. Unless Cal magically scores two TD's in the final 7 minutes, Texas will be going to a BCS game. There's no way the voters can still be 'impressed' with Cal after this lackluster performance.
I hope you're right...if the voters still put Cal ahead of Texas after this performance then it is just one more example of what a joke the system is.
I'm not worried... Cal had to win this game convingly. Frankly, if its within 10, its basically a loss for them.
Actually, the real joke is that there will be three 12-0 teams, and no good way to determine who should be playing for the championship. The system was never designe to get the right #4 or #5 teams in... but after tonight, I would be shocked if UT doesn't get the nod, BCS system or not.
if the AP isn't swayed by this after being swayed by the KU game then they're just full of it (though that's probably true anyway). and anyone who keeps utah wedged between cal and UT on their ballot after tonight needs to have their vote discounted or stripped or something. if this doesn't move us up in the polls, then the voters have an agenda. hopefully, they don't have an agenda. edit: watch cal score here then get a pick 6 so the voters can claim ignorance about the closeness of the game and just say the final score was enough.
Well, now its truly gonna be a dicey situation. If the voters actually watched the game, there's no way they can choose Cal... but sometimes you wonder how close these guys pay attention, when there's so much else they got to worry about. If they just look at the score, it becomes questionable... I still say UT has a better then 50/50 shot since they got that two points by fluke, and thus it really should be an 8 point game.
let the game end while So. Miss still has some dignity. it's like everything that could possibly happen to run up the score is. blocked kicks, 60 yard runs, going for it on 4th and 20 b/c they have to, broken tackle TD's. at least the clipping saved us. now So Miss, hint, they're running. tackle someone. now, Tedford playing the class card is gonna get them some votes. Davie campaigning for it in fact. hell, why even vote, apparently no one wants UT in the BCS. lets just concede.
Cal up by 10... but they don't try to run up the score to look good for the voters. But... by just not running up the score, they might actually GAIN votes for good sportsmanship?!? This is screwier than the 2000 presedential election. Give me a playoff please.
