I just woke up what did I miss? I just turned it on and I heard them say no one is working harder than Cato. Can anyone confirm this?
I just woke up what did I miss? I just turned it on and I heard them say no one is working harder than Cato. Can anyone confirm this? C.D and 610 mostly just talked about the new schedule, and how the first Nat. televised game must had been a marketing ploy by some guy in New York. (Rockets vs Raptors/Ming vs the Dream) At the end, he was talking about how he liked our look out for the future, and mentioned players that had been working out hard over the summer. Cato, he said, was supossedly working out the hardest.
Thanks hotrocket! I hope this is true about Cato. I think a motivated Cato can do more for the Rockets this year than Ming. In the long run I think it will help Ming if Cato comes out fired up because it will take some of the pressure of him.
btw They also talked about our back to back situation. The statistical thing to think about is that the back-to-backs take up more than half of our season schedule. that sucks...
I heard CD wasn't too happy about the back to backs. We went from something like 8 to 22 ? The good thing is it's league wide and not just a slap to the Rockets. os
The only problem with that is someone like Yao ain't gonna get as much practice time between games. os
exactly what i was worried about. that and both rookies stamina. the rookie wall may hit a little early this year.
Thats not completely true. With more back to backs there will also be more 2, 3 and 4 day breaks instead of just 1 or 2 day breaks which might be more beneficial to Yao. Rudy should be able to spend more consectutive days teaching Yao between games through out the season.
Thanks for the info. I thought there were MORE back-to-back games this year. We went from 8 to 22??? Man that is quite a jump. But glad to see it is a LEAGUE wide thing. I blame this ALL on the new TV contract. That is what forces games to do this. From my quick glance at the schedule it appears that the first two months we have a lot of time in between games which will help give more practice time for the Rockets and more importantly, Yao Ming. But as the season moves on towards the end the Rockets seem to have a TON more B2B games. All these B2B games....hopefully we will be healthy and having a deep bench will help in lowering minutes for players to keep them fresh for all of these games. Chris
That's exactly the reason. I think the NBA is going to regret leaving NBC...especially on the WNBA side of things. os
Actually, NBC did nothing for me. They weren't horrible but weren't great either. I think ESPN will do a MUCH better job and the NBA as a WHOLE will get more coverage on ESPN which I think is a huge bonus. As a FAN I love the new NBA deal. I mean who wouldn't? Wed - ESPN Thur - TNT double header Fri - ESPN double header Sun - ABC (later in the season) Plus the 4 games on NBA.com TV each week (rumored to be Sat/Sun afternoons and Mon and Tues night) I mean there is pretty much an NBA game on TV EVERY NIGHT! A fan's dream! However, for the players the increased back to backs are going to hurt and perhaps the fan DOES get hurt by the new TV deal if the players production goes DOWN and the NBA product as a whole goes down because of the increased back to backs. We'll see. Chris
