This only ups Kobe's chances of being MVP, and lowers the Lakers chances of winning it all.

Great for Kobe, who is currently my favorite NBA player and great for the Western Conference now that it's open :D

I still don't consider the west to be open. Lakers or Spurs vs Celtics or Cavaliers. The remainder of the season is filler. The only thing dramatic between now and the finals is which of these teams will peak at the right time to take it all.

If it's Lakers or Spurs again, then Send Lakers to the Finals already. They owned the Spurs last year and took them to 5 games without Bynum.

It's anybody for the West, but it's most likely the Lakers.

The Spurs match up with Boston better than LA does IMO. You send LA back to the Finals and you will get the same results as last season.
