    I have been looking at the Rockets Schedule and the rest of the first half looks like it could be in their favour. If the Rockets play well and luck is on their side (no major injuries etc.) then by 41 games they could be on a Rockets record pace with thirty-one wins and Ten losses! It means they would have to go 19-2 for the rest of the first half! Can they do it ,what do you think?

    If they continue playing like they are, sure it's possible. If Mo or Glen find their shot sometime soon, it's even more possible.

    Even so, you're talking .900 basketball. The longer a team plays at that level, the more other teams get motivated to knock them down. Not too many winning teams are able to sustain that type of pressure over that period of time.

    I think 14-7 sounds good. :)

    Actually I don't care much about the overall records. We know we are headed to the playoffs. I really want them to beat Kings, Mavs, Lakers, Spurs, and T-wolves.

    Don't be the house on it:

    We are currently 4-7 on the road with our biggest wins against a Shaq-less Lakers and a slumping Seattle. That said, we have, on the slate for the next 21:

    @Minn
    @Orlando
    @Atl (8-2 at home)
    @SA
    @Dall

    If we take 3 out of those 5 games, we should be ecstatic. Then, we'd have to win the rest on the road and all at home (Ind, Bos, Lakers, Utah). If we go 19-2, the Lakers and Kings should be peeing in their pants

    If all of our games were at home, we MIGHT be able to pull off 19-2. But not when you mix in road trips.

    Rockets could lose to the grizzlies tonight for all we know. 19-2? Not a chance!!!

    I believe!!!!! I believe!!!!!! The rocks have done more amazing things like start the season 16-0, or come back from a 2-0 and 3-1 deficit in the playoffs, or beat four 50 win teams in the playoffs while being the sixth seed and not have home court advantage in any of the series.

    If we all believe, then anything is possible.

    If we're #3 in the West after 41 games, we should be absolutely astonished and should begin worshipping (Astaghfur-Allah) the Rockets.

    If we finish the season as 4th seed, NBA beware.

    The only people who should talk now are those who projected us to be in the top 4 like we are right now. I did. I am saying that we could go 13-2 over our next 15 and if that happens, the league should look out. The last thing you want to have happen is that our backcourt adds supreme confidence to the bravado they already have. That plus, as somebody else says, our PF's start playing. Damn! Remember the worst is behind us. It can and should only get better. We should be able to go back to chewing on the central division.

    I think we will go around 13-8 at best 15-5. So that puts the Rockets around 25-16 at the break. Pretty good turn aound from last year. I realy don't care about the record, I just want the playoffs.

    19-2? whoa, that'd be awesome but these aren't all home games. the rockets are gonna have to prove themselves on the road as well. not looking at the opponents, 14-7 seems like something we can aim for.

    I agree with the poster above. The rockets have failed to prove that they can win on the road. 13-9 or 14-7 records are more realistic.

    Personally, I think a success would be if the Rockets played .900 ball for home games and .500 ball for away. With twenty games till midseason, that might end up as 14W, 6L. There's nothing not respectacle of such a record. Yet given the strenght of the Western conference, and my belief that the Lakers will somehow make a respectable run for the playoffs... (segue: imagine if the Lakers made it to the 8th seed and found their way against Dallas in the 1st round? how ironic would that be?)... then even a 48W record may not be enough to guarantee a top 6 seed.

    Among the teams that I count as "at" or "slightly below" Houston's level include:

    *Utah
    *Seattle
    *Phoenix
    *Minnesota

    Conceivably, one W could mean the difference btw a 3rd seed and a 7th seed. Also IMO, the second half of the Rocket schedule looks more difficult than the first. With teams gearing up for the playoffs and with the Rox having a LONG road trip out East. It could get messy.

    But I'd be very happy with 15/6 to close out this first half.
