The buzz is that Houston has run into some major snags w/ pickin up Ming. There are 15 days before the draft and if they don't smooth things out in China soon we may see Yao Ming drop all the way to NY. I'm not a Ming fan but if Lewis is destined to be a Rocket then Ming would be a great addition to the team. I'm relatively ambiguous about the news cause I still like Caron Butler (especially cause if we trade down to get him we would acquire another player from another team) but he would play behind Lewis and I don't like that at all. C
hey outkast were did u here this from? I thought everything was going fine, from what the board said.
Outkast, I find it simply ridiculous that you'd start this thread just when the Houston Chronicle (read: legitimate source) releases not 1 but 2 articles concerning how well negotiations are going in China. Please, son, do some research before you post! You're being very troll-ish!
Yeah the buzz is that Lakers will trade Shaq and Kobe for Cato. Dont worry we still have that #1 pick to draft a big man to replace Cate.
It's true. Not that the Rockets have hit snags, but there are sources out there spreading this misinformation. It's really quite funny. There are those out there that are blatantly posting false **** (read NY, Chi media) and those who believe it and repeat it (read the poor schmuck who started this thread).
I heard the same thing. . . . you think it will happen? Do you think Cassell will start over Kenny Smith. . .I hope so. . He sure looks like a keeper Rocket River
i hear zan tabak has been working hard this offseason and is going to have breakout year for us next season...
Everyone is trying to roll out their propoganda machines and position the draft as best as they can for themselves. The Rockets have never taken their eye off of the ball. For them, the trip to China and all the discussions are right in line with their beliefs and actions all along. So much for the conspiracy.
I hear there's this 7 foot Nigerian guy at UH that everyone's talking about. The Rockets are looking hard at him for the #1 pick.
Hahahaha. New York media will say anything - do anything - stir up anything humanly possible to get Ming. They are pitifully transparent. Fact is Michael Goldberg spoke live on Sports Radio 610 a few minutes ago and put all that to rest. Clearly at present there are no snags and the odds are near 100% the Rocks will take YM. Approval is completed from the Sharks, Yao's family and the CBA is who allowed Yao to come to the workouts in Chicago and New York. On a side note, without moving up NY will not get Ming.
From the information that we have received it seems that we still have to get approval from the CBA,but things appear to be looking good for the Rockets. The Knicks have almost no chance of getting Ming.
I wish to report that I just heard the Rumor the Outcast 9000 and NYRule have been sent to Siberia for the lifetime of Yao Ming. They will work the Saltmines in sackcloth and chains. Their only recreation will be to see Yao Ming become Rockets best ever Center on TV.
Yo, i wasn't hating on the guy. i was checkin on hoopsworld.com, sportingnews, and the espn boards and they were all saying that there were some problems being addressed. I read on therocketguy . com that they wanted a stadium built or something. I was just reporting what i heard, geez. I know rumors are just rumors but any info brought to the table on the subject is hearsay until one of us gets a plane ticket and takes part in the negotiations ourselves. C I'm not a member of the misinformation force. I want the guy in a Rocket uniform. The only person that I would draft higher is Caron Butler. I was just putting down what I read.
ESPN boards? The Rocket Guy? Those places are nowhere near as credible as any newspaper or CC.net. Anything there is pure speculation. Do yourself a favor, and only visit CC.net or read the chronicle when looking for sources. Those other places are only for a good laugh.
