Buying RAM: Fry's vs online

    Anyone know how competitive Fry's is when it comes to RAM? I'd like to buy some today, but will purchase it online if Fry's doesn't have a good deal. I don't want to waste a trip down there if I don't have to.

    Last i checked frys' doesn't have prices online..they don't really have an online store.

    I just picked up 2 - 512MB PC3200 DDR PNY sticks from tigerdirect.com for $109.86 shipped. There is a $30 rebate on each one, which puts it at under $50 for a gig.

    if you aren't in a hurry, newegg.com usually has better prices than any local retail, but you have to wait 3-5 days for shipping.

    Heh. Unless you know exactly what you want, RAM is a pain to buy at Fry's.

    At least if you have a problem with the ram, you can bring it back to frys and they'll test it. If it's bad, they'll replace it.
