    Hi everyone !

We have decided to put a 9' shuffleboard table in our game room, we talked about a pool table, but figured that shuffleboard would get more use.

Does anyone have any experience buying one of these? How is maintenence?

Anyone know someone who sells them?

    Thanks,

    DD

9 feet seems a bit small. No crapping on your idea but doesn't that take all the fun out of it by not having a normal sized one. I am not saying getting the super long one but nine feet seems way to short.

I love shuffle board also but man those tables run into the multiple thousands.

    Good luck finding one.

    All I know:

    • They're expensive.
    • They're longer than 9'.
    • They're fun.
    • I'll whoop anyone at it ;)

    They come in all sizes 9, 12, 14, 16, 18, & 22'....

It is going in our basement at the lakehouse on a concrete floor so no worries about the wax/sawdust getting loose.

Nine may be small, but too much longer and we don't have room for our corner bar....

Already in the room is a poker table, darts, bar, and the final addition is the shuffleboard.

Here is the one we are looking at: and it is only $800.

9' wouldn't fly for me, but if you decide to man up to a regulation bar size board go ahead and give me a call.

    :p

My dad owned a full size one. Not a lot of service required, but it was regularly checked to make sure it was level (I don't think he did it himself, but I'm not sure). I don't know how sensitive a shorter table (like 9 feet) would be to leveling.

Occasionally, the wax would need to be vacuumed up completely and new wax used for the next game, and an occasional wipe-down of the pucks and table surface.

This is assuming, of course, that the table is well kept. Nobody leaving drinks on it, no spilling, no surface damage... stuff like that.

Here is a question, how often do you all re-sand the table when you play. Me and some buddies play here and there and we play for the tab that night. I sand every other time. Meaning you play one end, play the other then sand. It is great to play on but it sucks sanding ti down often.

    What do you all do?

What if I got smaller pucks for the 9 footer....? Would that add the skill element back into it?

    ZING!

The table might work out, i wouldn't go out of my way to play shuffle board at a place with a 9ft table. But if it's at your house, I'm sure its more than good enough.

It just makes me think about those tiny pool tables people buy for their houses. That or the tiny air hockey tables.

My dad also had a machine like that at his bar! I really enjoyed it. But he got rid of it. I need to ask him why he did that.
