Guys, I keep going back and forth between these two cars. I like both very much and I'm planning on buying within the next couple of weeks. Which one do you like better and why? Also, if a dealer has to have my car shipped from out of state, do I have to pay shipping costs?
I like Lexus for its reliability. I would go with the Lexus, but I'm partial because my last two cars have been Lexus.'
Yeah, Lexus is generally considered to be more reliable but BMW has the four year warranty included - so it might not be a big deal since they will fix anything that breaks. Now if it's in the shop like 5 times a year, then that's a different story.
depends on what u want... bmw - better handling, nicer interior, more gadgets etc u can play with lexus - smoother ride, bigger engine/quicker, reliability, imo looks better i would choose the bmw because i rather have a vehicle thats more "fun" to drive. when i get older, i would purchase the lexus over bmw because the smooth ride and reliability would be a bigger factor. based on looks, is350...maybe when bmw face lifts their new 3 series in a couple of years it'll look good.
From pretty much everyone I know that owns a BMW, they always tell me their car is in the shop in what seems like every other month My family has owned Lexus for many years and RARELY have problems with them. Not to mention, the excellent service they have provided over the years
Really? You think the Bimmer has the better interior? The interior was one of the most glaring advantages for the Lexus over the Bimmer in my opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.
Yeah man german cars are r****ded. Dont buy one. The funnest to drive but after the 2nd or 3rd time you have to take it in to a shop in a few months, the thrill is gone
to be honest, i was just guessing =P i've never been in or test drove either vehicle. i was basing the interior on the previous 3 series the e46 which i own. test drive them both and see which one u like best, thats probally the best answer anyone can give you. lexus manufactuers the most reliable vehicles out currently..so if thats important to you, go with a lexus. bmw well...is in the middle of the pack. ive had all my window regulators replaced, idle pulley, gas pedal mechanism, and a few other things fixed right before the warranty expired. bmw/benz are generally 1-2 years ahead in terms of technology in their vehicles vs their competitors..not sure if this matters to you or not. alot of the new features ive read on the new is300/350...is options they've had standard on the previous 3 series. either way...their both great cars and imo i wouldnt want any other sedan in that price range.
I have test driven both cars and I like the way the Bimmer drives better but I like the plushness (is that a word) and interior styling of the Lexus better. As far as the exterior, to me it's a wash. See, I told you I can't decide!
I had a new 328i for 3 years and never had to take it to the shop for anything, and the drive was ... indescribable and addictive. I nearly bought a 330 instead of my Infiniti M35, but w/ a family the M35 won out.
Right now the Lexus is a much more unique car. BMWs are a dime a dozen. For that reason, if everything else is a wash, I'd definately go with the Lexus.
This definitely is a plus for the Lexus. The only problem is I will have to wait to get the package I want. I can't find any in the region that have the NAV + Mark Levinson + Sport Package and none of the dealerships seem to be able to definitively tell me when this package will be available.
I don't know what's up with all this BMW hating. I'm sure that everyone's experience is a little (or a lot, apparently) different, but the BMWs that I have owned (330, M3, X5) have always been very reliable and tons of fun to drive.
what's wrong with getting people's opinions here? to me this is the perfect place to get straight talk about random subjects.
I LOVE the Lexus IS350, and that will probably be the car I look at purchasing in about a year or so. How does the interior space/leg room compare between the two?
Well they haven't always been reliable, but they have been for some years now and hold their value extremely well. I don't understand the hating either, esp from folks who've never owned or driven one.
