Did the Braves really have a promotion where you got a free ticket for Thursday's game if you bought a ticket for Wednesday's game?

I heard it on 610, but I have a hard time believing that attendance could be that bad for a playoff game. If it's true, that would cement Braves fans as the worst in pro sports...

I dunno... if the Rockets made the playoffs 14 straight years and never (slight exagerration) got out of the first round, people would stop buying tickets to the first round here too, I think.

Buy one get one free is a bit ridiculous, but it also doesn't help that they keep getting weekday games (and often day games). I remember going to the Astros playoffs in 2001 - it was the same thing. Weekday day game, and Minute Maid was fairly empty.

I don't really get it, personally. The Braves have been that cities shining star since the early 90s. The Hawks have been foul and deservedly ignored for a decade, and the Falcons are just now turning things around a bit. What happened to erode the Braves' fanbase in recent years? The city got bored with the division titles?

They did it last year, didn't think they'd do it again. If they did, that's pathetic.

Atlanta has never really been all that supportive of the Braves. I think people have talked about the club having to give away playoff tickets for many years now.

14 seasons in a row and only 1 championship and 4 years of being bounced out in the first round... I wouldn't want to go either, yeah right :p

I lived in atlanta for a few years and it's business as usual around this time of year. More Falcons, Georgia Tech, and Bulldogs talk than Braves...
