    Here are my points:

    1. Obsessed in tricky play and dodge physical contact, please review his wishy-washy performance in the last games with Shaq and Duncan. He once said that his most admired coach is Don Nelson.

    2. Has to attend Chinese NT training camp every summer and spends less time with Rockets.

    3. Prefers toothsome but less nutrition foods, like jelly fish, Chinese pickled cucumber, watery rice gruel, and fresh water eel stewed with pork, but hates (beef) steak.

I'm not a Yao-hater but would like to have the concerns conveyed to Yao.

Trade him before his stock goes too low or just kick your racist ass out of this BBS.

Ok I will address those points...

    1. you make a valid point with how he isn't a physical player. however, where you do you get that he is obsessed with trick plays? he isn't j-will. at no point in time would i consider yao a player who is more concerned with show than results. also, what is wrong with admiring Don Nelson? he also admired Rudy T, is that ok? If you implying that Yao's admiration of Don Nelson translates into a lack of defensive intensity then Yao has also said that he prefers defense over offense because it demoralizes the opponent.

    2. if you implying that he will get fatigued with his Chinese NT obligations then you are making a valid point. however, the rockets have a trainer and coach with Yao over in China, so he is not losing out on rockets coaching while in China. i hope i am remembering that correctly. the Chinese NT wanted to learn American coaching and training methods if I am right.

    3. what difference does it matter what food he eats? the guy is not small, and it is clear to everyone that he bulked up during the season. his main problem is not using what he has, which you addressed with Yao's problem with being physical. a 300 lb player with the lower body of Yao should not get pushed around like he does. he doesn't get pushed around because of lack of size or strength, but because he isn't willing enough to push people around himself.

So in summary...most of your concerns seem off base except for the one about the lack of physical play from Yao. Not trying to flame you or anything, just wanted to counter what you said.

not everybody that has some concerns about Yao is a racist. that comment was not called for. By always saying people are a racist you show how insecure you for racisme.

Thanks, robbie380 and arno_ed. The guy who called me racist really needs to find out who Roy Jones, Jr. is.

I have to go to bed and see you guys tomorrow, oops, this morning.

Read his 3rd point 3 times. It's based on racial stereotype and has nothing to do with Yao. Its purpose is to be little a whole race.

i read it a couple of time, and i stil do not think it is about race. if Yao likes that food better, then royjones can have his concernes about it, he probably want yao to beef up, and the best way to do that is to eat steak. i do agree with him, but i do not think it is racisme.

And further more. i'm from holland. if people say to me things about wooden shoes and cheese and windmills, i do not think they are racists, those are stereotypes about holland, but i do not care. those stereotypes are funny, not insulting. The fact is that italian people mostly like italian food, and dutch people like dutch food alot, and american people like american food, because they are used to it. so thinking Yao like chineese food isn't that strange.

i do not mind if you do not agree with him but calling him a racist is overreacting

Yes, sir. I'll take care of that right away, sir. I'll mention it to him next time I see him. Consider it done!

Whats wrong with you people? Yao's favorite food has always been his mother's soups, but its also well-documented that Yao loves steak. It is also well-documented that the Rockets have had Yao eating things that are higher in calories, like pizza, to help him gain weight and strength.

Physical play will come with experience. Even Amare, who is a very physical player, got pushed around. Think about how well Yao did as a rookie. Think about the fact that he did so well without being fluent in English. Think about how well he did as an ESL rookie from the other side of the planet. Think about all those things and then chill the hell out.

Your only valid point is exhaustion and injury from his National Team obligations.

Here's to hoping Yao defects one day to the land of the free.

Tell me that you're happy now!

    YAO MING AIN'T NO BUST.

How can you say he's a bust?

Yeah......maybe....IF YOU THINK HE'S GONNA BE THE NEXT SHAQ OR HAKEEM OR MJ.

But he's just awesome. Better than Shawn Bradley and Jay Williams!

He should have been Rookie of the Year!

    I love Yao!

    Fine....he's a bust.

But I think he can become more aggressive later on.....HE'S JUST A ROOKIE.

And yes....going back to China after every season isn't a good thing...hopefully he will return in time for training camp.

Patience! Do not worry! We still have Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, Eddie Griffin, Bostjan Nachbar, James Posey, Maurice Taylor, Glen Rice, Terence Morris, Kelvin Cato, Moochie Norris, Juaquin Hawkins, and Jason Collier!

    1. No idea where you get this from. I think you've been watching too much ESPN where they only show the tricky passes.

As to Shaq and Duncan, he probably just ran out of juice.

    I think everyone likes Nellie.

    2. I don't think it's every summer but rather training camp for the Asian Games and the Olympics. So he will get a break here and there.

    3. Isn't his favorite place to eat Tony Roma's?

Dood, I think the only point semi right was #2. Everything else was wrong ...

We need more people like you! Thank you for being level headed. Those who scream the loudest about racism are the racists.

Its about time that we came to terms with the obvious. Yao Ming is and will be a FINESSE player. His mind set is that of the perfect team player. He has been taught to NOT outshine his team-mates. These ways are from his culture and will not be changed easily. * It could be just great having what might end up as a 7'6'' Tim Duncan on our Team!

i can't believe anybody actually took his comments seriously. this guy is just trying to be sarcastic and get people annoyed. don't take his comments seriously. also yao likes memphis ribs if i remember correctly. the guy who started this thread is also being stupid and probably only to start a stupid debate like this. and some of the things he said yao eats are strictly based on his own ignorant assumptions. royjones probably eats sauteed crap stewed with piss marinated in his own sperm for all we know. so pay him no attention.
