    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

LAW ENFORCEMENT: I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine in 1976 for
driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine,
and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving
record has been "lost" and is not available.

MILITARY: I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I
refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use.
By joining the Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in
    Vietnam.

COLLEGE: I graduated from Yale University. I was a cheerleader.

    PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:

I ran for U.S. Congress and lost.

I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas in 1975. I
bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company
went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock.

I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that
    took land using taxpayer money.

With the help of my father and our right-wing friends in the oil
industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected Governor of Texas.

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR:

I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making
Texas the most polluted state in the Union.

During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden
    city in America.

I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions
    in borrowed money.

I set the record for the most executions by any Governor in American
    history.

With the help of my brother, the Governor of Florida, and my father's
appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by
    over 500,000 votes.

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:

I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one
    billion dollars per week.

I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.

I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.

I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any
    12-month period.

I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the
    U.S. stock market.

I am the first president in U.S. history to enter office with a
    criminal record.

I set the the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one year
    period.

After taking-off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst
    security failure in U.S.history.

I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD.

In my State Of The Union Address, I lied about our reasons for
attacking Iraq, then blamed the lies on our British friends.

I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. president.

In my first year in office over 2-million Americans lost their jobs and
    that trend continues every month.

I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.

I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any
    president in U.S. history.

I set the record for least amount of press conferences than any
president since the advent of television.

I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused
to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.

I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in
duty benefits for active duty troops and their families -- in war time.

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simul-
taneously protest me in public venues (15 million people) shattering
the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.

I've broken more international treaties than any president in U.S. history.

I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any
administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza
Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

I am the first president in U.S. history to order an unprovoked,
pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation.
I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S.
    citizens, and the world community.

I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy
in the history of the United States government .

I am the first president in U.S. history to have the United Nations
remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.

I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.

I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. prisoners of war
(detainees) and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.

I am the first president in history to refuse United Nations election
inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).

I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most
    corporate campaign donations.

My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends,
Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in
U.S. history. My political party used the Enron private jets and
corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court
during my election decision. I have protected my friends at Enron
and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and
money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been
spent investigating one of the biggest corporate ripoffs in history.

I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center
attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated
country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

I am first president in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%)
view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.

I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded
    government contracts.

I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden and
    Saddam Hussein to justice.

    RECORDS AND REFERENCES:

All records of my tenure as Governor of Texas are now in my father's
library, sealed, and unavailable for public view.

All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my
bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President,
attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and
    unavailable for public review.

Please consider my experience when voting in 2004.

Taliban has steadily been reclaiming Afghan territory the last several months. The new government only really controls Kabul and the surrounding areas. We still have a ways to go to determine whether we really liberated it or just temporarily pushed the Taliban out.

Same with Iraq, depending on what happens after we leave.

The news. There are dozens of articles out there. These three took about 18 seconds to find. If you want more, you can go find them. Anyone who pays attention to actual events going on the world can see that things have started falling apart there.

LAW ENFORCEMENT: I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine in 1976 for
driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine,
and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving
record has been "lost" and is not available.

Would you rather have Ted Kennedy and his driving skills?

MILITARY: I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I
refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use.
By joining the Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in
    Vietnam.

And Bill was an honorable soldier?

COLLEGE: I graduated from Yale University. I was a cheerleader.

At least we know he knew where the girls were... and he didn't wait 'til he had interns.

    PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:

I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. Which is respectable. His friend Gore ran for prez, and quit politics.

I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas in 1975. I
bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company
went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock.
    Whitewater anyone?

I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that
    took land using taxpayer money.
Tax payers voted in this new stadium... I know, I live up here.

With the help of my father and our right-wing friends in the oil
industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected Governor of Texas.

I voted him in due to his stance on several issues, but did not care about his "friends." BTW - We voted him in because he was the best choice.

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR:

I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making
Texas the most polluted state in the Union.
Inaccurate in that, Texas has highest land mass, and more populants, therefore creating a skewed figure... per capita you're wrong.

During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden
    city in America.
Ever been to St. Louis? Once again, per capita... and speculation.

I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions
    in borrowed money.
Thanks Ann, for leaving an un-rightable ship. So much for "lottery helps education."

I set the record for the most executions by any Governor in American
history. Whom all committed their respective crimes under democratic governors that encouraged budget cuts in police forces state-wide.

With the help of my brother, the Governor of Florida, and my father's
appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by
    over 500,000 votes.
Funny thing is... the Gore side didn't recieve a "mandate" either. In fact, no where on earth is 48% considered a majority, since according to parlimentary procedure and "Robert's Rules of Order" a minimum 50% is considered majority. So Gore technically lost too.

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:

I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one
    billion dollars per week.
And liberated them... though our men and women there get overlooked as heroes, in favor of missing the point and blaming me for "invasions."
I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.
See one "Bill's 8 years" and the afore mentioned "un-rightable ship." Cause and effect actually takes a long time to reveal itself in a nation economy... didn't you take economics in highschool?
I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.
Duh, we were attacked on our home soil, and we had to handle our bidness. You think that's a "cost-cutter" there "super-shopper?"
I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any
    12-month period.
    see the last point...
I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the
    U.S. stock market.
and again... 9/11 ring any bells?
I am the first president in U.S. history to enter office with a
    criminal record.
But won't leave with more charges... more than can be said of the last guy in the oval office.
I set the the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one year
    period.
By who's standards? And what part of "took my whole staff with me" makes you think I shirked responsibility?
After taking-off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst
    security failure in U.S.history.
As if there was a way to foresee such a tragedy... and how dare you blame one man in a world of millions of freedom haters for an attack against his own people. I question your patriotism. Do not belittle the event, and make it out to be something the president could have single handedly stopped. If anything, the former administration had left some gaping holes for years... and those gaping holes allowed the current administration to reap their harvest.
I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD.
You better believe it. And under all legal, and known means. And a fully fueled 747 is a WMD from a certain point of view now isn't it?
In my State Of The Union Address, I lied about our reasons for
attacking Iraq, then blamed the lies on our British friends.
"Lied" would imply intent to deliberately cover up. If that were the case one could say I did not "lie." Of course as soon as I realized the source of the "misinformation" I pointed it out. Why take the "blame" for something unknowingly done? I did any way, but I must also point to the source to clarify things... something one "Bill Clinton" would never do. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman"- doesn't quite cut it, or qualify as dealing with it.
I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. president.
Unless you count Gore in China, etc. That should read "most trips that resulted in a successful election"... Al still spent more taxpayer money doing it, as he was the current VP.
In my first year in office over 2-million Americans lost their jobs and
    that trend continues every month.
You leave out the obvious again. What reasons caused that? And how many new jobs countered?
I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period. Me personally... ther you go again.

I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any
    president in U.S. history.
Sure. Yet all of the first four or five presidents were criminals to Britain... as well as the cabinets. Furthermore, the former president's entire extended staff stole valuable items, and even all the "w" keys off every single whitehouse computer. So who's had the most criminals again?
I set the record for least amount of press conferences than any
president since the advent of television.
Fine. I don't need to be fake and boost my ego as much as Bill did. I'm not hiding a thing, you just can't prove anything you start in the media... and I know who I am enough to not have to prove it wrong.
I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused
to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.
Once again, not all on me. Congress is way more involved in this than just my pen stroke. Which has been overridden.
I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.
Thanks to middle eastern conflict and wars... started, remember, by them attacking our soil first.
I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in
duty benefits for active duty troops and their families -- in war time.
Hold up there, bucko. That's one of Willie's last minute deals. I've been trying to reverse that curse. But house democrats want to hold me accountable for they started... as usual.
I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simul-
taneously protest me in public venues (15 million people) shattering
the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.
Actually, Jesus Christ has had more opposition since about 33 A.D. Look it up. Also, I believe the likes of Adolf Hitler, Mussilini, and Stalin had the entire globe united against them at one time or another... don't be so naive.
I've broken more international treaties than any president in U.S. history.
Aside from our founding fathers, who by the way seemed to understand we are our own nation. That is, after all, what independence is all about.
I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any
administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza
Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.
Show me a cabinet member from the last 40 years that wasn't tied in to money and bug business in some way shape or form, at least after they began to serve. Find one.
I am the first president in U.S. history to order an unprovoked,
pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation.
I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S.
    citizens, and the world community.
First of all, you're delusional if you feel it was "unprovoked." Second of all, as duly noted, we were attacked, we handle our own business, we are our own sovereign nation... and that "majority" of U.S. citizens that counts, when defending our freedom, are the ones in uniform. If they approve, they defend, if they don't approve, they mutiny. What did they say?
I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy
in the history of the United States government .
And you're thankful for the lack of Anthrax in your personal mailbox aren't you? And for the terr plots that have been stopped?
I am the first president in U.S. history to have the United Nations
remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.
Because that same commision had IRAQ on it WHILE Saddam was killing off his own people... mass graves have been found within this last two weeks... it would be a total, and utter farce, and disgrace of the U.S. to remain on such a panel in it's current state.
I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.
Similar reasons as the last one. Why be on a panel that won't even back what it supports on paper with action? Makes no sense... and somebody, we... I as president, will do do so. (back the law that is)
I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. prisoners of war
(detainees) and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.
The U.S.'s observation of the Geneva convention practically makes the Geneva convention exist... meaning we set a standard higher than it does in actuality. There exceptions to every rule, one of which is that we do not stoop to the low levels that the GC allows for... we set the bart higher. We supply the "detainees" with their own clerics, ministers and supervised religious ceremonies, as well as catch them in the act of committing treason.
I am the first president in history to refuse United Nations election
inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).
You ain't from here are you? As I said, we are our own nation... always have been, always will be.
I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most
    corporate campaign donations.
That means I mean a lot to those who believe in me, and you don't have to. It also means a lot of important folks believe I can do this job... and did not think so of Al.
First... "best friends?" I never have just hung out to be hangin' out with Lay. My adminitration helped find out all of these descrepencies in Enron, and Halliburton... and plenty money was spent to do it, or else the media would've never seen a stir and went to check it out. If anything, I helped bust 'em. And the money spent to investigate ML and "Slick" was spent on Bill's watch, not mine, approved bipartisanly
I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center
attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated
country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.
The world is fickle. Let them have a tragedy, and then defend themselves and they'll be in a similar situation. Remember in America, we don't get bullied. So sorry if they don't like us defending ourself, but we're going to continue. Don't like it? Live here? Pack your bags and leave then. One less idiot. War is never popular for any leader of state, but is sometimes unfortunatelt necessary.
I am first president in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%)
view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.
Of which 100% agree Saddam and Osama should be dealt with. And in a region of the earth that never saw Hitler coming 'til it was too late, and we had to bail their rears out.
I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded
    government contracts.
Not felons, just minor offenses like speeding tickets and misdemeanors such as DUI... something I actually agreed with Democrats on doing. Bipartisan help again.
I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden and
    Saddam Hussein to justice.
It's just a matter of time. And I personally cannot be out "in the field" lookin' fer him. Cam you?
    RECORDS AND REFERENCES:

All records of my tenure as Governor of Texas are now in my father's
library, sealed, and unavailable for public view.
As are any president's after moving from Gov. to Pres. They just happen to be in daddy's place, so you suspect something, LOL!
All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my
bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.
Per U.S. law, and the privacy act
All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President,
attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and
unavailable for public review. Hey stupid... ever here of "matter of national security" for cryin' out loud? I'm the RESIDING chief... get a clue.

Please consider my experience when voting in 2004. I'll be sure and thank you at the victory party!

I am the first president in U.S. history to enter office with a
    criminal record.

I still say this one is too vague to be true. You cannot tell me that none of the previous U.S. President's didn't have any criminal record of any kind.

I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money.

He didn't buy the team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. Those are two separate issues. He bought the team. During his ownership, the city of Arlington and the Rangers negotiated a stadium agreement that was passed by the voters by a higher margin and with a higher turnout than any other off-year election in the history of the city of Arlington.

I set the record for the most executions by any Governor in American history.

Of course, many people would vote for him based on this. As far as I know, though, very few of these people were convicted of these crimes and sentenced to death (by regular Texans sitting on juries) mostly under other Governors. And it does ignore the fact that, technically, the Governor can't permanently stop an execution (though his could influence the people who do decide).

I set the record for least amount of press conferences than any
president since the advent of television.

Thank goodness. Nothing I hate more than interrupting my television for some stupid thing I'm just going to switch to cable to avoid watching. Plus, it makes reporters work for a living rather than spoonfeeding them soundbites to fill up the network news.

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.

That's not true on a "real" dollar basis.

I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government .

The whole purpose of having such a cabinet department (not ministry, this isn't the U.K.) was to facilitate communication between the various agencies of the government who could possibly have gathered important information about potential terrorist activities. One of the reasons that September 11th happened was because our agencies that had information didn't communicate with each other. None of them had the big picture by themselves, so nothing of substance was done to stop it.

If these agencies had communicated, they might have had a chance of stopping the plot.

Now, it can be argued that the Department of Homeland Security isn't the way to go about doing that, but it was their solution to an actual problem, not just an attempt to create a bureaucracy for the sake of creating one.

I am the first president in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).

The United Nations has never overseen a U.S. election. If UN election observers were offered by the UN, it would've been meant as an insult or a joke in reference to the problems in Florida in 2000.

    The 9/11 Cover-up
What did Bush know about the al Qaeda threat?

It’s fortunate for George W. Bush he has a mess on his hands in Iraq; otherwise, he might have to worry about a significant cover-up coming undone.

As matters in Iraq — rising American casualties, helicopter mishaps, and an abrupt Bush decision to hand off political authority to an Iraqi body to be named later — have dominated the news, a tussle between the independent commission investigating the 9/11 attacks and the White House did attract a short burst of media attention. It was noted on front pages that the bipartisan 9/11 commission and the Bush administration, after weeks of squabbling, had forged a deal regarding the commission’s access to intelligence briefings given to Bush before September 11, 2001. But the news reports generally did not fully explain what was at stake.

The White House had refused to turn over this material to the House and Senate intelligence committees when they were conducting a joint investigation of 9/11, and Bush took the same position with the 9/11 commission. But when the commission — headed by former New Jersey governor Thomas Kean, a moderate Republican appointed to the panel by Bush — raised the prospect of subpoenaing the documents, the Bush team worked out a compromise. It is permitting the 10-member commission limited access to these intelligence reports, known as the President’s Daily Brief (PDB). (It helped that family members of people killed on 9/11 had protested the White House’s lack of cooperation.) The arrangement was unprecedented; this is the sort of stuff administrations fight to the death to keep secret. But 9/11 is different. Two Democratic commissioners (former Senator Max Cleland and former Representative Timothy Roemer) and the Family Steering Committee, an association of 9/11 relatives, though, blasted the agreement for imposing tight restrictions on how the commission can use information and, most importantly, on what it can tell the public about the material it is allowed to see.

The accord was a partial victory for a Bush White House that has been trying hard to conceal a key slice of the 9/11 tale: what Bush knew of the pre-9/11 intelligence warnings that al Qaeda was planning a strike against the United States, and what Bush did (or did not do) in response to these warnings. And the White House’s deal with the commission could well enable the administration to maintain this stonewalling.

Some background: While the World Trade Center ashes were still glowing, Bush and his aides told the public that they had had no reason to suspect this type of horrific attack was about to occur. Yet, as the final report of the joint inquiry of the House and Senate intelligence committees notes, for years the intelligence community had collected information reporting that terrorist outfits, including al Qaeda, were interested in mounting 9/11-like attacks — that is, hijacking airliners and crashing them into high-profile targets in the United States. U.S. intelligence services, the Pentagon, and the Federal Aviation Administration during the Clinton and Bush II years apparently did not take action in response to these reports. That was a systemic failure. Bush has never addressed it publicly, but if pressed he could blame the bureaucrats at the CIA, the Defense Department and the FAA for ignoring clear-and-present hints.

Bush is more vulnerable regarding warnings about al Qaeda that were sent to the White House during his first eight months in office. In May 2002, media reports revealed that the August 6, 2001, PDB had included material regarding Osama bin Laden’s interest in hijacking airliners. That caused a brief controversy for Bush. And in September 2002, the House and Senate intelligence committees disclosed that an early July 2001 intelligence warning had noted, “we believe that [bin Laden] will launch a significant terrorist attack against the U.S. and/or Israeli interests in coming weeks. The attack will be spectacular and designed to inflict mass casualties against U.S. facilities or interests. Attack preparations have been made. Attack will occur with little or no warning.”

The questions are obvious. Was this dramatic July warning shared with Bush and his top advisers? If so, what did they do? And what did the August 6 PDB presented to Bush actually say? How did Bush react to it?

Such queries are not necessarily difficult to resolve. To fulfill its mission, the 9/11 commission ought to provide the answers. But the Bush administration, to date, has acted to stop such answers from reaching the public. When the August 6, 2001, briefing hit the headlines 18 months ago, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice pooh-poohed it and ‰ told reporters that the PDB had contained merely a general warning about al Qaeda. And when the House and Senate intelligence committees revealed the existence of the July 2001 warning, the Bush administration refused to allow the committees to say whether this warning had been passed to Bush and his national security advisers. It would only let the committees report that the warning had been furnished to unnamed senior government officials.

With these actions, the White House blocked the public from learning what Bush had been told about the al Qaeda threat in the weeks before 9/11, and it hid information that could cause Americans to wonder if Bush might have not reacted to the warnings with sufficient vigor. But the preliminary evidence is that the White House has been protecting itself. According to the House and Senate intelligence committees’ final report on 9/11, the committees were told by an intelligence community representative that an August 2001 intelligence report included information that bin Laden wanted to conduct attacks in the United States, that al Qaeda members had been residing and traveling to the United States for years and had apparently maintained a support structure here, that bin Laden was interested in hijacking airliners (to trade for prisoners), that the FBI had discerned patterns of activity consistent with preparations for hijackings, and that bin Laden supporters were planning attacks in the United States with explosives.

That sure is different than a general warning about al Qaeda. Did this information appear in Bush’s August 6, 2001, PDB? The committees are not in a position to say, but their staff has told reporters they strongly believe some — if not all — of this material was included in the PDB. That suggests that Rice misled the public about this briefing and that Bush had been presented with more than a routine warning about al Qaeda. And one Democratic senator on the committee told reporters (including me) that the July warning — the one noting a “spectacular” attack loomed — had indeed gone to senior White House officials and the president.

The current battle over Bush’s PDBs is important. They can show what Bush knew before 9/11 about al Qaeda’s designs. They can provide a foundation for evaluating — finally — whether he and the federal government acted responsibly and reasonably in the weeks and months before the attacks. Which is one reason why anyone with an inquiring mind should be suspicious of a deal that does not provide the commission unfettered access to these reports and that grants the White House the possible means to protect a serious but little-noticed cover-up.

    Woofer, there is no cover-up...

And there will never be one as good as the cover-up, outside of the JFK assassination, of the issue of the dealings between North Korea and Bill Clinton.

Bush, "W" if you wiil, inherited a literal "terrorist incedent waiting to happen." And we may still see more from North Korea...

Something the public never even imagined would happen until we see the dealings with Clinton come to light now.

There's no way they've covered up anything. They've openly stated that they "knew of" threats to attack U.S. soil.. even in the "manner" of the attacks on 9/11...

Just no crystal ball, or even educated guess as to "when."

And I suppose your foresight is better than your hindsight?

All of you who second guess, armchair quarterback, and see it so clear, yet deny the one thing needed to see clearly....

A view from the real world. One that can admit that no one knows the future.

I suppose it's FDR's fault the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor too.

And Clinton knew the Oklahoma City bombing was about to take place.

And every single event that ever had a negative effect could be prevented.

Not in reality. Not on this planet.

Information, charts, speculation is one thing. But facts aren't facts, after all, until they are.

Outstanding post IROC it. And I agree with our resident drummer, this is old propaganda, half-witted lies and other conspiratorial nonsuch. That whole thing about the surplus, for example, just floors me. First of all, the "surplus" was a result of Enronesque accounting schemes by the Clinton admin and did not really exist in the real world, it was PROJECTED ! And if you have a surplus, it means that you took in more tax money than neccessary and should rightly return it to the overtaxed, right? Wrong if you ask the Dems. To them, it was more money to invest in various giveaway votebuying schemes. So get it over it, already. Bush won in 2000 and will win again in 2004 over whatever candidate the Dems trot out as a sacrifice.

OMG, more blame it on Clinton, never Bush's fault hand waving. More people died on Republican's watch due to terrorism. If they want to take credit for something that ought to try finishing something. Al Qaeda has spread farther and wider since the Bushies *finished* off the Taliban. The Bushies gave Bin Laden safe refuge in Pakistan because they are too cowardly to go get him and let the Saudi's fund terrorists for years after 9/11 without so much as a whimper. The Bushies can't even finish off a third world country like Iraq without putting their pride before our soldiers' lives by undercomitting forces there.

Cool. Does the White House know? In fairness, they might have just gotten it confused with the other cover-ups. Somebody tell them there's nothing to fear with this one so they can release the report they've been hiding.

Okay, two can play this game. According to reports, the events of 9/11 were years in the planning stage. Weren't those years on The Clinton Watch?

The original piece is propoganda, and not a balanced look at anything. The response by Iroc, however, addresses almost none of the issues, and is way off base and sometimes inaccurate as well.

Bringing up Ted Kennedy when talking about Bush's criminal record? Ted Kennedy hasn't been a choice since 1984.

Trying to equate Bush's dessertion of his duties and going AWOL during Viet Nam to Clinton's moral objection and not serving is hilarious.

He also brought up Whitewater when responding to Bush's former business dealings. Of course Clinton wasn't even charged of any wrong doing in the business of Whitewater.

According to IROC it, any time bad things happened during Bush's terms in office it was always the fault of somebody else. Apparently people don't have to take responsibility in IROC it's political world. It's always the other guys fault.

IROC it also got wrong in saying that the Iraq invasion wasn't preemptive.

You would like me to name people who in administrations in the last 40 years that didn't have the kinds of connections to big industry that Bush's people do? Bill Moyers, Ramsey clark, most of the people in Carter's administration including Jimmy Carter himself.

I hesitate to weigh in on this thread because I don't like it when my side resorts to the same type of mushy junk that the weak-minded right routinely spouts in order to scare money from the simple-minded. Our case is extraordinarily strong without resorting to this type of thing.

That said, there seems to be quite a bit of discussion on 9/11 here from both sides, and this just reinforces in my mind that we need a true investigation of what happened. If it's Clinton's fault, if it's Bush's faults, if it's both or neither, we all need to know what happened. This is too important a topic to resort to shady facts and he said/she said type of arguments. This, in many ways, goes to our foundation and we need to know. I hope all of you contact your representatives to urge the 9/11 Commission to do a thorough job and make sure they get all the material they need.

I don't think we really need a $50 million investigation to tell us it wasn't Bush's fault and it wasn't Clinton's fault.

It was bin Laden's fault. Period.

You miss the point. Let's say it's the 1950's and two cars hit each other because the red light wasn't working properly. The fault is obvious but wouldn't you want to know what caused the light to fail and maybe come up with a design that prevents failure in the future? Wouldn't you look at the passengers and see if there is anything that could be done to protect people in the future, like seatbelts, better brakes, etc.? Same point here. I'm not saying Bush or Clinton caused 9/11... I want to find out how it happened so that we can adjust and do all we can to prevent incidents like 9/11 in the future. Given what we're looking at, that means an examination of intelligence, information flow and a host of other bureaucratic issues that may reflect negatively on this or previous administrations and that's fine by me. This should be above politics.
