If Kerry is the nominee and if the election were held tomorrow, how would you vote?

I'm including party ID to gauge crossover votes.

Even though I'm about 20 times more liberal than the average Democrat, I picked Democrat for Kerry.

I'm looking forward to seeing the prick of all pricks lose badly in November. If that happens, I'll start to believe in this country again. If it doesn't, then it's a sign that America is repeating the history of all other great empires- corruption from within and blissful public ignorance leading to its eventual downfall.

That is exactly what scares me. I know that we can solve the issues facing our country, I just hope we can do it without having to suffer through a revolution.

To see just how bad things have gotten, just watch any commercial news. I swear that ten years ago, the level of sensationalism and dramatization was far less prevalent than it is today. One need look no further than the Janet Jackson "scandal" to see this.

The fact that Bush's approval ratings are even as high as 49 percent is just scary. The country is so distracted by a tit, that they can't see the very foundations of the nation slowly crumbling around them. Of course, I am only referring to the people that are firmly ensnared in the media's grip, but their number seems to be growing daily. The propaganda machine is stronger than it ever has been, and when the most powerful nation is ruled by it, the whole world is put in danger.

This is truly sad, but it's not too late for this country, or this planet. Removing this villain from power would be a huge step in the right direction.

I haven't voted yet in this poll. I will soon. But I'd be way interested to know who the Democrats for Bush are. Because I'm pretty sure they don't exist. Would also be interested in the independents for Bush. Is Jorge an independent now or is he a Bush Democrat? texxx? I'm cynical, I know. But I actually won't believe a single D for Bush vote unless someone actually owns up to it. I'm sorry, but it's just not believable. Even in Hollywood. And the independents for Bush are almost equally dubious to me without ID.

At this point, I am an independent for Kerry.

I'm not sure of how many people are on this list but the fact that less than 40 people had voted until I voted really worries me.
If this is the kind of turnout we get in November believe me it will be a cakewalk for shrub.
For the those of you who are not going to vote remember you have no right to complain!!!

BTW, have I missed the thread where people are discussing the fact that Bush has lost 10 points over January in almost every poll, and in Newsweek and Time ( I think?) polls currently trails Kerry by 5-7 points? That's not conclusive, but must be troubling for Bush supporters. Agreed that the Dems have a reason to be in the news right now, but Bush has also been pretty consistent with campaign style events, ops, and releases since...always.

i registered as a republican 5 years ago, boy have things changed, you might as well consider me a moderate-democrat that still checks himself as a republican just to make stats more interesting. it could be because i would like the country to be fiscal, and i also want my president to be ethical and not be a warmonger and use force as a last resort, all of these failures caused me to jump the fence faster than a buttraped convict.

    Umm, none of the above?

Green for whoever the hell they run.

I would have voted for Dean I'm pretty sure, but no way Kerry gets my vote. When are people going to learn that senators are damn near unelectable? Governors can win (obviously), but senators can't. The reasons are obvious. And the Democrats are quite possibly going to have TWO senators on their bill.

I honestly believe that Dean could have beaten Bush head to head. Kerry is going to get trounced.

I'm an independent for Bush. Hate the democrats on fiscal issues and hate the republicans on social issues. I guess I fall somewhere in between the two parties.

Just curious, but is anyone voting FOR kerry or just AGAINST bush?

Since Bush will get the electoral votes from Texas, I'm voting independent.

But, I would vote against Bush given the opportunity for it to make a difference.

I noticed, but was not surprised, to find that you failed to mention the "Republicans for Kerry" votes (which are as numerous as the Democrats for Bush voters) when you made tha bove post. Posts like these will continue to give you zero credibility among members of this message board that do not share your ideologies. Like MacBeth, you seem to be well informed on current events and the issues, but unlike MacBeth, you choose to allow your ideologies into your posts on this message board. I'm not saying this to start a fight, but to point out that you seem to have something to say, but who wants to listen when you say it from your biased perspective. We get enough of that from the news media.

Yawn. What is a debate or a discussion without ideology? I'm a Democrat. You're a Republican. Your calls for 'objectivity' are boring. I'm no more biased than you are and that's a natural fact, obvious to anyone who's read your posts.

I didn't mention Democrats for Bush because I have never heard a single Democrat here express the merest possibility of backing Bush and I've heard several Republicans or people who voted for Bush last time express the possibility they won't this time. It's not a zero sum game.

And I repeat, I don't believe that a Democrat voted for Bush in this poll. If one did, speak up and prove me wrong.

Am only commenting on this as my name is involved...

    A) Batman is very upfront with his idealogy, and as such I donlt think that this is a valid criticism. He's not trying to sneak anything in here as 'coming from the middle', and moreover his points in the passage you quoted aren't ideologically based, they are based on a laerned partisan cynicism, which he owns up to in the very same post. Additionally, he opens himself up to contradicition by fact if he is wrong, which in itself is contrary to a biased precept.

    B) As far as current political happenings, Batman is way, way more informed than I am.
