    Bush= 45%
    Peolosi= 43%

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Political Tracking/Favorables/NancyPelosi.htm

    [rquoter]Forty-three percent (43%) of Americans have a favorable opinion concerning the nation’s new Speaker of the House. The first woman to serve in that role, Nancy Pelosi (D) earns favorable reviews from 45% of women and 41% of men. A Rasmussen Reports survey of 800 Likely Voters found that, overall, 39% have an unfavorable opinion of the Speaker.
    Those numbers reflect a significant improvement for Pelosi since November. At that time, just 24% had a favorably opinion of her while 40% held an unfavorable view.
    Pelosi’s predecessor, Dennis Hastert (R), was viewed favorably by 24% of Americans at the time his party lost control of Congress. In December, just 11% of Americans gave the outgoing Congress good or excellent reviews.
    Sixty-six percent (66%) of Democrats have a favorable opinion of Pelosi. Sixteen percent (16%) have an unfavorable opinion while 18% are not sure.
    Among Republicans, just 17% have a favorable person of the woman in charge of the people’s House. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 41% offer a favorable assessment.
    Pelosi is viewed as politically liberal by 52% of Americans and moderate by 22%. Just 5% consider her conservative and 20% are not sure.[/rquoter]

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm

    [rquoter]The President’s Job Approval Ratings have bounced up slightly in the first week of the New Year. Today, 45% of Americans say they at least Somewhat Approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role. That's the highest approval rating the President has received since early November.
    Eighty-two percent (82%) of Republicans approve of the President's performance, while just 18% of Democrats approve of the way the President is performing his job.
    This bounce stands in contrast to data for the full month of December. Last month, the President’s Job Approval Rating among all adults slipped to 39%, the lowest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports (see our comments on comparing Job Approval ratings from different polling firms). It had been 42% in November. The December figures include 18% who Strongly Approve of the President’s performance and 43% who Strongly Disapprove.[/rquoter]

    so a congresswoman who probably a large segment of america hasn't heard of and has been bashed by the media for being a 'san fran liberal' still has as favorable a rating as the sitting war president of 6 years?

    cool beans.

    So you have no problem with all of the bashing of Bush and his handling of the presidency the past six years.

    What is the point, basso, besides finding a poll with what are, these days, decent numbers for Bush? Comparing him to Pelosi, someone who has never run for national office, is more than a bit ludicrous. She represents her district in Congress. Her Democratic compadres deemed her worthy of election as Speaker. Other than that, what is your point? A lot of Americans barely know who Pelosi is, sadly enough. However, they know who Bush is, and what Bush is, and have strong opinions of the job he is doing, as shown in early November.

    pelosi or bush? thats like asking if you would rather be kicked in the balls or get urineboarded while tradertexx watches.

    they both work for the same team - all this republican vs. democrat and liberal (or 'progressive' or whatever air america is calling it now) vs. conservative crap is nothing more than a bunch of garbage and alot of americans are sick of it.

    the bush administration have proven themselves to be a bunch of lying criminals, but pelosi says right out of the gate that impeachment is out of the question. will there be any oversight now that the dems are in power? probably not.

    the bush's and the clinton's vacation together. bush sr. calls clinton 'son'. rupert murdoch is holding multiple fundraisers for hillary. what the heck is going on here?

    the american people are waking up and no longer trust either party. its become pretty transparent to most all of us that both parties are beholden to the same masters.

    Besides the fact that polls are worthless, those two polls are asking two different questions.

    The Bush poll asks whether people either approve, somewhat approve, or disapprove while the Pelosi poll asks whether people think favorably or unfavorably. That lack of a third option creates a false dichotomy. You're comparing the people that somewhat approve of Bush versus the people who think favorably of Pelosi.

    And lastly, Pelosi bugs the hell out of me.

    I've seen the Who several times, and find you borrowing this lyric for this purpose a sad thing. Pete would say there are great differences between what you call, "the boss(es)." So would I. Who would you rather have appointing lifetime Federal judges to the Federal benches across the country, and to the Supreme Court? Which political party would you rather have approving those appointments? Give me an honest answer, and then think again about your statement.

    She is the representative from the district that includes San Francisco. She is a liberal. I guess you could say liberal is a made up term, but you would being having problems with a lot of political commentary if that is the case. It would be like calling me a Stockton Rockets fan, just a statement of fact.

    i have disdain for both parties and the system as a whole, but if you are going to make me pick sides im with whatever side the neocons are not on, so ill have to go with the dems (for now). the neocons hijacked the republican party and made it what it is today. what does it even mean to be a liberal or conservative anymore? bush is the biggest fiscal liberal the country has ever had in office.

    the bush administration is destroying this country on so many levels and they need to be stopped. but like i said, both parties are beholden to the same masters. the iraq war will continue and the north american union will roll full steam ahead. sadly, it was the republican congress which prevented bush from getting his amnesty for illegals passed, but now that the dems are in charge the fake conservative bush will get his wish.

    i would prefer anyone but the bush administration granting lifetime apppointments.

    most politicians are crooks to some degree, but what we have now is unprecedented.

    the last congress was the ultimate do-nothing, rubber-stamp group we have ever had so ANY oversight that the dems can give us will be a good start, but again, they are all controlled by the same puppet masters. until we get corporate influence out of politics its going to be the same, which is why i say...

    meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

    i guess you didn't have to learn much logic for the lsat. ;)

    san fran liberal is now considered some evil thing. its derogatory almost. the way fox said that she's gonna turn US into san fran. the way others have wished that the terrorists bomb san fran. take all this into account and it is slander.

    doesn't mean i have anything against san fran. it is by far one of the best places to live at if you can afford it. and being a liberal is being progressive and compassionate and open to change and open minded.
