http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9644434 By Reggie Bush Special to CBS SportsLine.com The season starts this weekend. I'm not nervous, I'm getting excited! I feel really prepared after playing the preseason and getting adjusted to the NFL. The main difference for me right now from college to the NFL is just taking care of my body. I’m learning to use the off time to my advantage because longevity in the NFL is key. It's a long season, so I'm learning how to eat right, going to a message therapist and even seeing a chiropractor. I have a lot more time on my hands because when I was at USC, I was going to class and doing school work. My expectations for this season are to win games and make my mark on the NFL. The Saints haven't had a winning organization recently, so I'm trying to take them to the next level. I want to play in the Super Bowl. I always shoot for the highest goal, so I want to help us get to the playoffs and eventually the Super Bowl. I don't have any hard feeling toward the Texans for not taking me No. 1. I felt like I did everything I could, leading up to the draft. I didn't hold anything back for three years of college and all throughout high school -- I played my heart out. I'm guessing with Domanick Davis' unfortunate injury, there are a lot of questions about the Texans' draft. New Orleans is nice and I'm enjoying it. I didn't know what to expect when I got here, but it's a lot hotter than Southern California. I've tried some of the local cuisine -- seafood and oysters. I'm not a big oyster fan, but the ones I had here are pretty good. The fans are always telling me they drafted me in fantasy football. I never really got into it and don't really know much about it, but people are always saying that too me -- "I have you on my fantasy team."
The only reason Reggie Bush is a Saint is because Paul Tagliabue asked Bob McNair to let New Orleans have him as a last personal favor to him on his way out. And since Tags had helped Bob with the franchise and awarded Houston the Super Bowl, he did it. Tagliabue (a noted liberal) had made a personal comittment to keep the to the Saints in New Orleans as a becon of hope and rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina. And engineering the draft where Reggie goes to New Orleans was the best way to ensure the team's fan loyalty, visability and profitabliity. It was the only way New Orleans was ever going to get a national TV game (Monday 9/25 vs Falcons) I know this for a fact. Well not a fact because I just sorta made it up, but it sounded more plausible than the Texans really drafting Williams #1, so, I think it could be true.
It's not really Bush hate. It's Bush-fan-Texans-hater hate. Stop the Bush-fan-Texans-hate and the other will dry up.
Of course he will. Deuce will eat up some carries on that team...oh, and Bush is overrated. 800 yards, 3 tds.
I'll stop the hate once you and the other Bush groupies wait until Bush has actually played real games before you declare the Texans idiots and act as if it was one of the worst decisions in the history of sports. Deal?
All this Bush love by ESPN will hopefully be shot to hell when Lundy rushes for more yards and has a better season...then what are they going to say about the draft?
watch him not....where is mario williams's blog??? bush for MVP. bush for hall of fame numbers. lets go!
Oh, I dont wish anything bad upon him at all...I just dont see him as being the superstar the media is making him out to be. I honestly dont feel like his style will work that well in the NFL. I think the Texans will have a running back that outproduces Reggie...I dont think that's farfetched at all.
we have to balance out our hate since he's obviously loving himself too damn much. "I'm guessing with Domanick Davis' unfortunate injury, there are a lot of questions about the Texans' draft." A LOT of questions? Please, he acts like we're awfully regretting not taking a college runningback who still hasn't played a regular season down who was such a big baby since he didn't go #1, that he held out until he got #1 money.
Man, this stuff is getting so old it's ridiculous. Bush doesn't play here so let it go. Yeah, he mentioned us in a blog but so what? It wasn't negative and he's actually right. We have big time questions at QB, RB and in the secondary. Be honest, if you had known DD would miss the season would you still taake mario over Reggie? I sure wouldnt. By no means am I saying Reggie had a great preseason but I was evn less impressed with Williams. I hope Lundy is a steal or Morency ends up having a huge year. None of thqt changes the fact that Mario simply doesn't look special. Ryans looks like he could be a future pro bowler, I'm just waiting to see if Mario can get ot the QB. I hope he can. Let the Bush talk go, it serves o purpose
