This forum doesn't exactly represent your average American. This is an extremely liberal forum.

Look around at what TV shows are popular and which musicians are tearing up the charts right now...

It's not much of a stretch to assume the American public is incapable of voting for the best option on anything, including presidents.

In a city where he used to "own" a team, in a state he used to govern.

Doesn't the crowd at the Super Bowl usually have nothing to do with which teams are playing? Pretty much everyone there bought their tickets long before they knew who was going to be playing in the game.

If bigtexx also consistently demonish "garbage filled with wild assumptions" that FAVOR Bush/Republicans/Tea party/etc., then his current point would be valid. But of course, he doesn't.

If a similar article is written about Obama rather than Bush, his tone would be entirely different.

I think that's what sticks in their craw so much. While Mr Obama is revered around the world, Bush is reduced to a war criminal on the run.

    yep!

from the OP article: Recall, Bush has acknowledged giving authorization to waterboard 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (waterboarding is a torture tactic that violates both U.S. statute and international treaties to which the U.S. is a signatory):

And we won't even get into that whole Valerie Plame affair

authorization of torture is a war crime punishable by death under united states law. and then the whole thing about lying our country into a war which has killed tens of thousands (conservative estimate) of innocent iraqi men, women and children as well as killed and maimed thousands of our troops and cost hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money.

They can't even manage to hang on to Roman Polanski, and they're supposed to have the balls to prosecute a US President? Be serious.

basso you can deflect all you want. We all know that Plame was outed by the Bush junta (an act of treason punishable by the death penalty). Scooter just took the fall to cover for them.

    you know that

That wasn't the real reason they canceled the trip - there's no danger of arrest.

It was more a danger of being embarrassed by protesters, and also the fact that the ex-President being the guest of honor great big pro-israeli fundraiser is probably a partcularly dumb move at this moment in time (though in fairness, that never stopped him in the past).
