A post by Sam about Bush's record low approval rating made me wonder what Clinton's approval rating was at the same point in his presidency. It's 65% to 26%, despite Clinton being embroiled in the Lewinsky scandal. The #s speak for themselves. WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, July 29) -- President Bill Clinton's approval rating has not changed significantly despite new developments in Independent Counsel Ken Starr's sex-and-perjury investigation, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll conducted Wednesday. Poll results show Clinton's approval rating at 65 percent, up 4 points from 61 percent in early July. But the poll has a margin of error of plus or minus four points. http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/07/29/poll.clinton.lewinsky/ The survey also found that President George W. Bush's job- approval rating dropped to a record low 21 percent. Seventy-four percent said they disapprove of his performance, the poll found. Bush's rating is a 4 percentage-point drop from a similar poll in April. The rating is ``lower than we've ever measured for a president in any state or national poll,'' said Clay Richards, assistant director of the survey. i'm tired of Clintons and Bushes, its been 20 damn years of them, how about someone new! Screw Hillary. Pun not intended, jokesters.
America loves Bill and they will vote Hillary into the White House just to get more of BC in the spotlight.
Did you expect gifford to get it right? lol. I'm sure he saw 21% in the story, splooged his pants, sprinted to his internet connection and furiously stabbed at the keys in hopes of being the first one to post in on CF.Net. Man, what a loser.
Well, 26% is the lowest of all the polls ya know. And that's not the latest either. He looks like he's more in the 29-32% range. Which isn't good. I'm surprised that he still has that many people supporting him. But I guess Basso and Trader Jorge support him quite openly as well....maybe there's a lot more closet Bushies out there who just are holding their tongues. http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm
I'd still vote for him over Gore...and the toilets. But I'm definetly looking forward to the next election.
Well tj's right. I got it really wrong. See, if Bush was at 21%, he could triple his #s and still be grasping for Clinton's level of love. At 26%, all Bush has to do is double his #s and.... oh wait ......he'd still be double digits behind Clinton. Man, people really really don't like Bush.
Fitting that you would come to gifford's pathetic defense... in error no less. "The new numbers—a 2 point drop from the last NEWSWEEK Poll at the beginning of May—are statistically unchanged, given the poll’s 4 point margin of error."
George has performed terribly. He is unpopular. I am certain he will not break up with you if you accept these two findings. He may still let you smell his socks.
