Yeah, not one of my better threads, but got something stupid on my mind... I have this really good friend who I love spending time with, blah blah blah...but everytime I leave we've got the whole hug thing going on. I have no arguments there. Here's my thing--and this goes back to the eighth grade. I was a CLASSIC social reject (I know, what's changed, right?) and I had my first girlfriend, Mindy. At this point, when we'd hug, the only hug I knew was the kind I gave to my mother, where I'd put my arms around her neck. Luckily, Mindy's good girlfriend informed me that the BEST way to hug was just to put MY two arms around her waist and then SHE puts her arms around my neck. So I went with it, liked it, and I've been hugging that way ever since. Which brings me back to the subject at hand. When I go to hug this girl, she does this weird one arm around the neck other one around the waist, and she always gets the waist-arm pinned to her when I hug her. It's real funky--I almost grimace when I have to hug her. So the big question is this--who's got the better hugging technique? It'd suck to find out all this time that my hug is the funky one, but hey, I'm a big kid, I think I'll be able to take it. Man, after not starting my own threads for over two years, what a great way to make a comeback--a HUG thread. Thank goodness I'm a good kisser.
I use the one arm hug for quick hugs when I dont want to get to close the arms around the neck with my honey only and... at my church we are always hugging each other. I give them the both arm hug but im not sure where I put my arms... hmmmm
At least you guys can stand to hug. Even though I was well loved my mother has this problem with hugging and I was never hugged growing up. Now whenever somebody tries to hug me I stiffen up whether its my girl or family. So word to the wise, When and if you have kids hug them as much as possible!
