Take it for what is worth....

Rumor mill: League sources said the Bulls and Knicks have renewed talks that stalled in early December on a Tyrus Thomas for Al Harrington swap. Other Bulls salaries would need to be included to make the trade work.

The Bulls continue to shop Thomas aggressively, including as part of larger deals involving John Salmons or Kirk Hinrich. The Bulls have told teams they are seeking expiring contracts and draft picks.

League sources also said the Bulls remain in dialogue with the Rockets for the $23 million expiring contract of Tracy McGrady.

The only ones I'd want from the Bulls are Rose and Noah. So no way

I think if a deal goes down with Tracy it should be the Bulls. Brad Miller has proven in the game earlier this year he still has game left and knows RA system, gives us height and a starting center. The question is who the Bulls want to dump on us and what do they want in return.

Listen, the last thing the Rockets will do is buy Tracy out and make him happy. He screwed us last season, now it's our turn. If he doesn't take a low buyout meaning he will have to go to NY and tell them to pay him the difference in his one year deal with them, his ass is getting benched.

A buyout doesn't help out the Rockets, because Tracy is hardly willing to give up much of his salary.

We'd have to add talent to the deal, such as:
Noah + Hinrich for McGrady + Scola

plus other players to make the numbers work.

I thought if we buy him out, we can do it to get under the lux tax line right? I could be wrong but thought buying him out saves US money ?

Tmac does it to sign with ANY team he choses, and if Tmac has a verbal deal to stay in NY past this yr he then okays the buyout. Its only 2 million or so less than he makes now.

We do it because it saves Les money instead of taking back same equal money expiring contracts. Common sense says unless Bulls agree to a 3 way (no homo) then Tmac goes to NY

Ny might not want to include anything of value, knowing the Rockets are desperate. Ny wont give us Chandler or Gallinari. We are ALREADY screwed and Tmac knows it.So does Ny york. When Cuban got Butler ,NY was laughing because we ran out of options. Not to mention that Morey has said on the radio we intend to make Tmac happy whereever he goes.

I'd have an interest in Deng ("declining star"--for right now) and Brad Miller. We need size, and BM knows RA's system like the back of his hand. Also, isn't he an expriring contract?

Tyrus Thomas is interesting, but I still consider him a raw talent.

    Kirk....no.

    Jo Noah....please God no.

John Salmons can play and shoot, and if I'm not mistaken, he played a year under RA.

This might not be such a bad thing.

Harrington's game might thrive in RA's system. Sure, his contract his bad, but the guy is versatile.

someone with inside info back me up, If Tmac and his agent say "no to chicago", then its no deal and we send him to NY right? Tmac could easily just tell Del Negro "im not playing for you,ill sit out the year". Why would Bulls send us talent knowing Tmac will sit out?

Who wouldn't want a guy who's nickname is Nosharington? Seriously though, I really like this trade for the Bulls. Even if Harrington is the most selfish player in the universe, the Bulls desperately need offense and Harrington can provide more efficient offense than the vast majority of our team in high volume.

He'd also make Rose more dangerous by giving him someone who's actually dangerous off the pick and roll, and by giving the Bulls a legit front court player who can score. Yeah, you're losing something in defense with the swap, but I think it helps the Bulls considerably, especially given that you're lifting Tyrus's bad attitude from the team in the process.

Jerome James is almost certainly the other piece to this puzzle going to New York. The Knicks are like the Bulls. They're not taking any extended contracts, so John Salmons is right out. Jerome James + Tyrus Thomas for Harrington + Landry is probably the final deal. The Knicks take on an extra 900k in the deal, the Bulls might through 1.8 million into it to make it salary neutral, maybe not.

KC also mentions the Bulls still being involved with the Rockets for Tracy McGrady and other proposals for Salmons / Hinrich. It promises to be a busy All-star weekend.
