My general attitude towards Rose's situation is that it looks bad for him, and I'm penciling this in my mental ledger as his fault, but that's open to revision given new information. This isn't really pertinent new information. As the article says, he's obviously gotten second opinions. Either 1) one of those second opinions says he's truly not ready, in which case props to him and the organization for keeping it in house, and I'm completely on board 2) all of those second opinions say he's ready, and he just doesn't want to play at 75% effectiveness even if there's no risk of reinjury. Either way, Chicago's track record is irrelevant as long as he's gone outside the org for a second opinion. And either way, I don't really hold it against him, their season was over when he made it to April 1 without giving it a shot, it's too late now to integrate him in a meaningful way so may as well play it safe.
I thinks it's all nba doctors not to be trusted. The ultimate decision comes down to what's the best business situation.
