First of all has anyone ever woken up in the middle of the night or early morning to hear a bug buzzing or doing something in your ear? I stayed at a friends house last night, stayed up late watching movies, then went to bed. I would have came back home but it was storming pretty good so she wanted me to stay over there. I woke up around 3:00 this morning with a very bad pain in my right ear. It hurt so bad that I was surprised I didn't wake up screaming. I made it to the bathroom and looked at my ear to see if my ear was bleeding. I didn't see any blood so I turned my head sideways to see if blood would come out. I felt something moving around and thought maybe blood was coming out. Instead what falls into the sink was something like a centipede and it was about 2.5-3 inches long. I'm not sure it was a centipede or not cause it went down the drain pretty quickly but I know that critter was long. After it was out I was still in a lot of pain. I took 2 Motrin and that didn't do anything for the pain I was in. About 30 minutes later I woke up the girl I was staying with and told her what had happened. She told me that Terminex was just out and sprayed on Thursday. So we got a Q-tip and alcohol and I put the Q-tip in my ear farther than you normally would. After cleaning out the inside of my ear I got back in bed and 15 minutes later most of the pain was gone. After waking up for the day I came to the conclusion that the little critter got stirred up from getting sprayed with the insecticide, found it's way up the bed and into my ear. Then from there it rolled up into a ball (when I turned my head sideways at the sink I felt it uncoil as it slide out. Thats why I thought it was blood moving) and the insecticide on it got on my eardrum. That was probably what was causing all the pain for me. The Q-tip and alcohol got most of it off. My ear is still a little sore inside it right now but that could have been from the critter rubbing up against the ear drum. Has anyone had any stories like this or their input on what I should have done besides going to the ER?
Well lets see..... First of all has anyone ever woken up in the middle of the night or early morning to hear a bug buzzing or doing something in your ear? Has anyone had any stories like this or their input on what I should have done besides going to the ER? Yeah there is three of them in there. I hope you can tell after I made one bold, the next underlined, and the last one in italics. I spaced the first letter on the last 2 but I guess it didn't come up.
a friend of mine had a roach in his ear, he had to go to the doctor and get it removed peice by peice becuz it wouldnt come out. it was stuck somewhere inside. that was gross, and im scared ****less of roaches.
A friend of mine in high school said his mother, a nurse, had dealt with four people who had roaches stuck in their ears.
I saw a comedian recently on cable (think it was Dana Gould on HBO) with a long routine about his experience with an emergency room visit because of a bug getting in his ear.
LOL...I bet they've never had a bug in their ear. After looking through some pics of different crawling critters. It's not an Earwig...It's looking more like it was a small centipede.
About 15 years ago I went to my friends house to sleep over. This dude lived in Alvin by Clear Lake. Anyways, I wend during the day and everything was cool. Except their were a few small roaches roaming around the living room and I am deathly afraid of roaches. Night comes and we are playing Nintendo. The roach activity has increased. Maybe I see a 7-8 roaches roaming around. I did not mention them because I didn't want to sound rude. I get up to go get a glass of water. Turn on the kitchen light...and witnessed maybe the single most horrifying (sp?) moment of my live. There are at least a few hundred small roaches roaming around on the floor, cabinets, walls and the dishes. I freaked out and let out a small scream. If I stepped on the kitchen floor I would probably kill 5-6 roaches with each step. I just stood there frozen. My friend comes, navigates to the dish rack and cooly grabs a glass (with roaches around it) and fills it with water. I take it, but did not even take a sip. After that I was freaked out. I seriously contemplated calling my parents to pick me up (it was about 2 or 3 AM). We went back to playing and when I opened the Nintendo to put in a different game, some roaches popped out of there. Went to bed and there were roaches in the bedroom as well. I slept sideways and held one hand on my ear and the other on my nose. Got up the next day and quickly called my parents. After that I never went back to this dude's house. Always called him over instead. About 12 years ago I had gone to India with my family. We came back after a month. I was sleeping in my bed and I woke up in the middle of the night to pee. ****GROSS***** Do not read if you get grossed out easily! I blew my nose cause it felt like a giant bugger was in it! Out came a bunch of snot and a small dead roach!!!! In India, centipedes are called "kan-khajuras". Meaning "ear-eaters". They say you become deaf and die if one of em goes in your ear!
DANG I THOUGHT I HAD SEEN ROACHES AT PEOPLES HOUSES IN MY LIFE. but never anything like that. man that took a lot generosity, courage, and stupidity to stay over there that night.
i woulda RAN out of there. i remember we had a similar roach problem a few years ago. those little buggers everywhere, i would seriously stay up til about three hunting each one down and killing them. the house smelled like RAID for about a week. but it did it. after that no more roaches. plus i got a job and hired an exterminator. i always keep a RAID can in my room just in case. its dusty cuz i havent used it but during the summer u never know. thats when u get those big ass ones. The ones that glide or whatever, i dont say fly cuz they just fall and make a really gross sound when flapping their wings (i just got goosebumps).
