Yes, these rating are basically pointless, but it's always exciting to see our rookie getting some national respect and climbing to #6. Especially when he was taken 44th.

Its pretty incredible to think that our rotation right now consist of mostly late 1st rds, 2nd rds and undrafted free agents...

    Brooks - Late 1
    Ariza - 2nd
    Battier - Lottery
    Scola - 2nd
    Hayes - undrafted

    Lowry - Late 1
    Budinger - 2nd
    Landry - Early 2nd
    Andersen - 2nd

Really think Air Bud could be a gem but overall another "I am not worthy bow" for DMorey as he was able to draft and pick up guys who have come to build a strong foundation without the star power.

Thanks. I should have included that in my original post but I didn't even realize ESPN did a ranking.

    Funny comment from Hoops World

    Joe Shafer in Houston, TX:
Did you expect Ariza to contribute as much as he has offensively? Doesn't Chase Buddinger remind you of a Mike Dunleavy kind of player?

    Steve Kyler:
Yes... mainly because they had no one else to go to... I am a big Trevor Ariza fan and have been for a while... so I felt like he could do more than we've seen, but his shots are out of necessity.

Not sure who Chase reminds me of, I wouldn't say Dunleavy because I think Mike D has a better floor game than Chase... he really reminds me of Tim Legler/Pat Garrity... Big, Long and can really shoot it... I think Chase is gonna have a stellar career

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

LOL Tim Legler and Pat Garrity?
Minus that fact that Chase has a 42 inch vertical

    What a joke.

Also remember that Battier & Hayes are the only active Rockets that Morey did not acquire.

Chase reminds me of the young Brent Barry. Great shooting, high IQ, good court vision, good athleticism, good handle, not so good defense.

David Andersen was an honorable mention also. Nice to see that.

Really wish Chase was out there tonight. Rockets looking a little tentative down the stretch

It's too early to tell who Budinger reminds me of. The names mentioned thus far did not have the whole package that he has. Dunleavy was a hustling ball handling machine with a very good outside shot. Budinger however, I think, has a better shot than Dunleavy and is better at creating his own shot. Legler and Garrity could shot but not much else. Budinger is a better athlete, better passer and is able to drive the lane and run the fast break far better than the last two names mentioned.

I have a feeling that Budinger, if he continues to give his all out effort and really tries to study and learn the game, could have an allstar career. Once again though, it is still too early to tell although he seems to have the tools to be a great one.
