Isn't this the guy who some people wanted to trade Landry for because of his awesome shooting? LOL

They'd be dumb not to re-up CV31. They just got Brandon Jennings, doesnt he play point? Who else do they have a PF?

    Jennings/Sessions
    Redd
    Joe Alexander
    ?
    Bogut

Jennings thought they wanted to keep Charlie and not Sessions, that's what he told Joe Budden.

Went after Amir Johnson for a reason I guess. I don't really like V's game.

Not surprised, I thought they wouldn't re-sign CV. He's a chucker extraordinaire, when he's going good he helps the team but when he's bad he doesn't rein it in, he just keeps putting up shots. Don't think Skiles liked him.

Have the Bucks ever had a 1st round pick that wasn't a complete waste of talent?

I know they didn't draft CV, but i was just thinking about all the a-holes they have picked in the 1st round over the years.

Actually I wouldn't read TOO much into this move.

By not tendering a qualifying offer to Villanueva, the Bucks have waived to right to keep Charlie V as a RESTRICTED free agent. However, Villanueva would probably never have taken the ~$4.7M qualifying offer anyway. All that qualifying offer would have done was give Villanueva the unilateral right to accept it (unless the Bucks pull it beforehand) and get a one year, $4.7M contract.

I think the Bucks will still attempt to re-sign Charlie to a long-term deal if possible (factoring in luxury tax, etc.). But if another team comes calling with a ridiculous contract offer, Milwaukee will just let him go. They just waived their right to match a ridiculous offer.

Keep in mind through all this that Milwaukee still has his Bird rights and can offer him well above what any other team can offer him.

Toronto drafted Charlie Villanueva. Milwaukee traded TJ Ford for him.

Charlie V is no a-hole, he's a class act off the court.... its easy to call people names when they arn't in front of you. Grow up.

Hmm personally i really like Charlie V. He is a consistent all-around PF that can sometimes outburst his capacities. I would be glad if we can get him.

I don't think you know him too well. May want to check his game log before you declare him consistent. He's a loafer that plays to his potential for stretches before losing his focus for a few weeks.

I was about to say Ray Allen, but then I remembered that he was initially drafted by the Wolves, and then traded to the Bucks.

Interestingly enough they also drafted Nowitzki initially, but traded him for... Tractor Taylor.

I never got the impression that Charlie V was a "problem child" off the court, but his on-court performance bother me.

He reminds me of Lamar Odom, only worse and not actually useful. It's weird... CV is like the anti-matter to Chuck Hayes. He has everythign Hayes lacks, but lacks everythign Hayes has.

2 Posts in a row that had absolutely nothing to do with what I originally said.

You guys need better reading comprehension.

My question was completely unrelated to Villanueva.

i think he was talking about the Bucks poor draft history (i.e. Bogut as pick number 1 insteads of deron williams or chris paul) and Yi Jianlian

Yeah, I wasn't calling every 1st rounder they have an a-hole or saying anything about Villanueva at all.

This thread just got me wondering how a team can consistently draft so badly.

Joe Alexander is already pretty much a bust.

Bogut isn't a #1 overall talent, Jianlian didn't even want to play there, they draft Dirk and then ship him to Dallas for Tractor Traylor, The time before when they had the #1 overall pick they took Big Dog Robinson over Jason Kidd, Grant Hill etc. Shaq of Mac Gary Trent was a huge bust.

Not a pretty first round draft history recently to say the least.

Michael Redd was a 2nd rounder of course, and its weird because they have actually found some decent talent in the 2nd round over the years.

Redd, Sessions, Mbah a Moute last year, Keith Bogans, etc.

It's hard for me to read this guy. The rare times I've seen him, sometimes he looks like star and then other times he is a complete chump. I can't blame him for not liking Scott Skiles. He might be very good off the bench, but not as a starter.

Very streaky kind of player, and not just shooting... I think some nights he just isn't into it.

I remember having him on my fantasy team and it was maddening, you start him for a month and he barely does anything, you bench him and he starts dropping 30 point games left and right.
