The Nuggets keep insisting that LaFrentz isn't on the block. That might be doublespeak for "we're not offering, but we'll listen." And yet the Nuggets management states they might have to rebuild (yet again). The Bucks have supposedly offered Sam Cassell Tim Thomas Joel Przbilla for Nick Van Exel (who is from Kenosha, WI, near Milwaukee) and Raef LaFrentz (who is from Iowa, so I could see him re-signing there). Any thoughts? Would anyone pull that trigger? Where's NugzFan and the lot?
Am I crazy to think that offer is crazy? Cassell is a better PG than Van Exel (as good as I think NVE is). And Tim Thomas is better than LaFrentz. Milwaukee would get to unload Pryzbilla though.
If you dont' mind me asking, where'd you hear this? Kind of news to me. Cassell isn't better than NVE in my opinion. I'm not a huge Cassell fan. I like Thomas as a player and Pryzbilla has disappointed so far, but could still turn out to be a good player. If there was a way we could alter the deal somehow to get someone besides Cassell, I'd be all for it.
While I agree, Cassel has won almost everywhere he went (excetp for NJ back in the day - although being in Denver would be similar to NJ back in the day.) If this was the best deal on the table, though, would you take it or just wait till the summer and hope for soemthing else. If I was in the Nuggets organization I'd take it because the team as is isnt going anywhere soon anyway. It seems like a good deal all around, too. Milwaukee would probably get better and tougher. Van Exel, Allen, Robinson, La Frentz, E Johnson would be a pretty good starting 5.
That is a good point about him winning. I'm still torn on this deal. Everything I read about Cassell says I'm wrong, and I could be. If it comes down to this deal on the table vs the Portland deal (Raef, NVE, TAW, McCloud for Davis, Stoudamire and Wells), I'd probably go for the Portland one. I really am glad we have Kiki. He's not going to make a deal just to make a deal. He's going to do it only if it helps the Nugs. This is a rare feeling, but a nice one.
