if what this article says is true, then this is not good. it's bad enough they got yao for the whole summer training with the NT and not spending time here or letting rox trainers train him in china or even getting a break to rest. then they gotta go out and make sure that not only does he not improve, he might just get worse!!! just hope the bad influence of the crappy chinese NT doesn't rub off on him. the lack of rest and the exhausting training are very concerning too.
Bucher is a reporter, not a coach. As for players getting bored, I don´t think that´s as big a problem in China as in the USofA. They have better discipline. Not treating the star players differently then the others is part of chineese culture, and is also good for keeping their heads from swelling to much. ..whatever, what do I know.. I´m just a line employee..
Something I just don't get: CNT practices and training are intense. Yao has been doing this since, what, early June?? Then someone please explain to me how he is out of shape/overweight/hypertensive/etc.
Codell you have made a significant observation, which I would expect of one who has the 'eye'for what is going on. The two statements if true they are not congruent, so one which we know for a fact[Yao Mings Condition] then that indicates that the Bucher Report is fallacious, at least it couldn't be accurate as far as Yao Ming is concerned.
Most Yao interviews have stated that he is tired and overtrained. He is overweight because he eats too much of the wrong foods. His diet is probably causing the high blood pressure also. I doubt the intensity part but I don't doubt the overtraining. As many chinese poster have stated here before, China is notorious for over training their athletes because the coaches want to be able to say they did the most they could do just in case they lose. It's the same "cover your arse" way of thinking that is so prevelant in corporate america. Who cares if you accomplish anything because people who work long hours don't get laid off.
As a senior member you act as though you're 9 years old. Calm yourself down my son because this site is frequently visited by young members who are adolescent teenagers. Vulgar & Foul language is uncalled for.
Exactly... Anyways...to players like Allen Iverson and Steve Francis and Shaquille O'Neal and Rasheed Wallace.....the way the Chinese practice may seem boring to them! But maybe the Chinese guys are used to it.....but is Yao fat? Or is he stronger with more muscle? Didn't our trainer go to China to meet Yao just recently?!? Get to work!
Teenagers know the F-word dude... he didn't type it out, he removed the "U" as to avoid typing a vulgar word. In fact, the phrase "F-Word" is just as obvious as F_CK... so should I tone it down?
I believe if Yao were asked, "well Yao, should I tone it down?!" He would say, "that is for you to decide"...
Look at it this way. At least it is not the same training. That way Yao can learn something and perhaps add it to his game. Had Olajuwon not undergone soccer training he may not have been the player he turned out to be. Any kind of training can act as a form of crosstraining if you think of ways to make it useful. It's Yao's fault if he doesn't get something out of his experience. It's not the system's fault. Or the coaches fault.
Unfortunately I was never able to take Stalone serious after I watched in horror as he frolicked in the water with Apollo Creed in Eye of the Tiger. The emotional scares have never healed.
