I think its if the Bulls are somewhere between 14 and 29 or 28 if the NBA takes away the Timberwolves 1st rounder and or Joe Smith. Believe it or not in the weakly east it could be possible for the Bulls to make the playoffs though they couldn't really do better than 7th or 8th in even the gimp conference they play in. So a pick at the cusp of the lottery is possible but more likely we'll get two early 2nd rounders while the bulls will play the lottery.

He may be right. I had called the Rockets' office and asked them about the conditions. They said they wouldn't disclose the nature of the conditions and that that is standard practice. So I don't know how GettinBranded would know what the conditions were, but maybe he found out somehow. The Rockets also told me that it depended on what the Bulls' record was so I assume it is protected up to a certain pick. I like to think it is lottery protected instead of top-18 protected. I don't know why they'd bother discussing what they would do if the Bulls finished in the top 10 (overall, not just in the EC!) since that is obviously laughable. Thinking they won't be in the lottery also seems silly, but they drew the line somewhere.

In any case, if GettinBranded wants to clarify how he has this info, I'd love to hear it, so I can update web-pages accordingly. Cat5, you can rest assured that, in all probability, we'll be receiving 2 second-round picks.

In my wildest dreams, I can't imagine the Bulls having one of next seasons Top 10 records. That would be about a 49 win season. Looks like 2 second rounders to me.

Maybe the guy got it wrong, maybe it's the Bulls pick if it's a top 10 pick and ours otherwise....

On an intuitive level, I have always felt that the pick would be Lottery protected (14th or higher to Rocks) b/c Bryce himself was a mid first rounder with proven experience and a contract that is team option in 2002. It just seems to make the most sense.

It would would be interesting if the Bulls can sign Joe Smith. In the weak East, with a little luck they might get the #8 spot. With the right "condition", this might mean a mid 1st to the Rockets!

Exactly, but does Joe Smith fit in their plans. They would have yet another power forward. So I'm wondering why would Joe Smith sign wit da bulls. And if he does, will Fizer be on the block?
