Overall the Boys they look tied and unfocused. In truth, they have looked this way for a few weeks actually--at least offensively, first time they paid for it though. Bryant--catch the damn ball when it hits your hands and make plays when you do catch it. Become the game breaker you have the talent to be. Quincy, Quincy, Quincy. Flashes of brilliance when all you need to do is be steady. Make sure you get positive plays on 1st and 2nd down. Show the leadership--cut down on TOs and lead your team to the end zone. Find the way to move the team, consistently. Newman--well, completely horrible game. Looked like his 1st one against Atl. Play like the other 8 pro games you have played in next time. Oh well, atrocious offense. Actually a solid game by the defense even with Newmons 3 bone headplays, still didn't produce a TO. Got close 2-3 times--didn't hold on to the pass or get the fumble. Maybe this is be a wake up call to the offense. Cowboys are still in great shape if the offense can do anything, because they do have the best defense in the the league, and if not, at least by far the best in the NFC. Beat Carolina next week, and pound those lucky punks from Phily again--home field advantage throughout. The path is there, just learn from this horrible day. BTW Bill Belchik (sp/) is a fine coach but a capital A-hole after what Parcels has done to get him where he is. Tuna, man, kick some ass on the entire offense this week.
E - A - G - L - E - S Eagles, Eagles, Eagles! Cowboys are now officially goin' down. The fluke is over.
Cowboys should thank their lucky stars that they are 7-3. A couple of those victories were due to dumb luck. They should really be 5-5. The offense looks really weak the last couple of weeks. I don't know how the Pats are doing it. There roster doesn't impress, but I guess veteren players are the key to their success.
The NFC is really down if the Cowboys are one of their best teams. Speaking of top teams, you have to love the arrogance of the Chiefs who dissed the Bengals despite losing to them. I am an AFC man, but I don't want to see those punks win the Super Bowl. I would rather see the Colts, Titans, anyone else other than them.
Quincy - I still don't like him despite most of his performances this year. Way too inconsistent for me. He gets too antsy in the pocket Newman - You can't expect much when Dallas leaves him on an island and get pressure with it's blitzes. I still think he is a good player right now.
I couldnt agree more. The Chiefs (other than Vermiel) refused to admit that they got outplayed by the better team that day. Cincy just came to play and Lewis had them fired up.
Len Pascarelli (sp?) had a really good article on ESPN's site talking about this. He mentions how the Chiefs beat some teams (read the Broncos) when those "teams weren't playing their best", but they convienently forget that in spouting off about losing to the Bengals. Most of it, I think, is due to the fact that not many of the Chiefs have ever won anything. So, they don't know what "act like you been there before" means.
If the Cowboys should be 5-5, the Iggles should be 3-7. Iggles have gotten even luckier, and the Cowboys have much better points and yardage differentials--thanks to the NFC's best defense of course. If fact until this weekend the Iggles had been outscored by their opponents. I feel pretty good about him, he only is a 2nd year guy. To me the Cowboys really need an explosive guy in the offense. Either a big time receiver that can't be covered 1 on 1 (Moss, Owens) or stub HB (Ricky W, Holmes, Faulk). They get a guy like that and I think they could be superbowl bound. True. I like the Cowboys of course but the only NFC team IMO with a good chance is the Rams if they can get humming again. Colts, Titans, Pats and Chiefs, they are the best in the whole league IMO though of these I question the Chiefs the most because I am not sure if they have a playoff caliber defense. Cowboys are a year or 2 away--they need that other offensive gamebreaker I was talking about. Yeah I think he is good, maybe great even for a rookie, but he had a couple very bad plays and a bad game yesterday.
The Cowboys shouldn't be 5-5...there may have been some 'lucky' games but they also should've beaten the Falcons...
Carter looks like he is trying to just be a stead QB. I would like to see him be more aggresive....not just in throwing the ball but in the way he controls the side. It just doesnt seem like his team. I think the Cowboys biggest problem is their running game. They need a good running back they can rely on every week. If you had that Carter wouldnt be as much of a problem. Im willing to give Carter some time to grow as an NFL QB (Isnt that good one me!).
I agree, I think Quincy is doing pretty well. If the Cowboys had a Holmes, Williams, Lewis or Faulk they would be a threat to win the Superbowl this year. But right now, without the game breaker or guy who can always get some extra yards out of base plays (Young Emmitt was great at moving chains)--just not enough weapons. Another way to get the game breaker is to acquire a WR who just can't be single covered by even the best corners--Moss, Harrison, Owens level--but they are even rarer than stud RBs. Of course Tampa and the Ravens showed you could win without the gamebreaker (I don' think Lewis was what he has become)--but it awfully hard.
I think as long as you have a QB that can make plays...you can win the superbowl. Lets face it, these days you can have a QB that puts up massive nu8mber, a running back that puts up massive number and not get close to the superbowl. Its all about being able to make the plays. Dont worry about number or how it gets done....just make the play! Carter looks like he can make plays. He has a good scrambling game and he hasnt got a bad arm or instincts. Even on that INT he threw nearing the end of the game when throwing to Witten.....I thought that was a great throw with ALOT of bad luck.
Agreed, Carter showed poise and skill on that play because NE smelled the call and sent 2 guys his way. Carter was doing on that play what I want him to be more disciplined in doing--getting a hand full of positive yards out of most plays. Witten should have caught that ball for a 2 yard gain or so given what Carter had to do just to put the ball where he could get 2 hands on it (IMO all you could ask from a QB not named Vick or Farve on that play). Dallas receivers--Glenn and Bryant particularly, and backs, have dropped a lot of well enough throw balls this year.
