I was browsing the free agent list in Real GM and two PFs raised their heads? If we do lose Jason Collier, would you replace him with a seemingly reformed Shawn Kemp or perhaps with a homie, University of Houston product Alton Ford?
Hey.....Kemp......uhh.......sure. He's not horrible...but....he's not that great. Pretty useless. We could sign him just to play the games against Shaq....more fouls to waste. Alton Ford?!? NO!!!!!!! He sucks.
If we can get Kemp for the minimum or around 1 - 2 mil I'm all for it. I like the fact that Kemp gave up money, which is an extremely none selfish thing to do. He's still playing because I feel like he still want to improve, its a crap shoot but hey the upside is just too tempting.
I dont like either one of them! I was at NBA.com and I saw this thing about J. O'neal being a free agent this summer and his choices were Indy, San Antonio, and Orlando but do you think theres ANY chance at all that we could get him? He plays PF and C and we have a weakness at PF so he would be great! and If Yao was to get hurt (God forbid ) O'neal could start at C and whoever is at PF could start. What ya'll think am I losing it?
Even if we did get him.....your love Eddie wouldn't have any playing time anymore! We could get him.....by sign and trade...that's all. But why the heck would he come here?
I was thinking in terms of inexpensive solutions for a backup at PF. If you are going to dream on this scale, you might as well dream BIG -- as in Kevin Garnett.
backup PF? Sounds good but who do you expect to be our starter? Mo T is good but he isnt starting-power foward material. Hes a nice backup though. Eddie hasnt developed into a decent backup PF yet, so you know good and well he shouldnt start. Who do you see fitting into out starting lineup at the 4?
Griffin -- once he adds another 15 pounds of muscle and some of Mr. Mean's "mean." Until then, Mo Taylor. However, we must have a true muscle guy for insurance.
If we lose Jason Collier, I think that Kemp would be a huge upgrade. He can provide scoring and rebounding in a limited role.

Oops, I forgot Amal McCaskill. The Rockets won't go anywhere without him. Seriously though, there are a lot of good role players in that list, which the Rockets desperately need.
