after doing a google search, when clicking on a specific google result, I get redirected to a related site that sells something but is not the site that I was wanting. If I click the 'Back button" to go to my search results again, and click on the google result a second time, it will redirect me again.

Only when I click back and click on the search result a third time, does it go to the google search result site that I should have gone to in the first place. It seems to be a type of adware

ive run a lot of adware/spyware removers but it always comes back. i dont look at p*rn or anything else cuz its a family computer...if anyone knows how to get rid of this, id appreicate it

Search for something that will give you a site you really want. For example, search for "Yahoo, Inc.", which should give you a link result to www . yahoo . com (you should see the real link under the first result).

If it does send you to Yahoo's main page, then it's the results on the GOOGLE page that are sending you to a site you don't want, it's nothing on your PC. If it does not send you, then it's an object you downloaded (inadvertedly, of course) and installed as a Plug-In on your browser.

You don't give too many details, though, man... you just say "browser", but don't say which version of what platform on what Operating system, or what-not.

If it's not too personal to ask, what specific site are you searching for?

Give us more details, and we'll help you out. Happy New Year?

I assume you're using IE. I'd give CWShredder a shot to get rid of it. Either way, Firefox is a nice alternative :) I assume you've run the other programs in my sig.

Firefox rox, but my only complaint is that on the toolbar on the bottom of the screen, the orange of the Firefox sometimes gets me confused with the orange of my Winamp program.

That's my main complaint with it. Other than that the "restore previous session" is the coolest thing I've encountered with any browser.

well im using IE version 7. this "redirecting" problem occurs with google and yahoo (the only 2 search engines ive tried). if i search "imdb" or "espn" in both search engines, it will redirect me to a related site. for example i'd search "espn" and of course i'd get many results. if i click the first link (www.espn.com) that comes up it will send me to another search engine. i'd then press back and click the link again and it send me to www.dickssportinggoods.com...it will finally work on the 3rd time
