Sources say Clippers dangling 1st round pick from Minny to Denver for Gallinari. Pick is Top 10 protected in 2011, unprotected in 2012.

An unprotected 2012 1st rounder for Gallo? I'm sorry, he's a good player and all, but I don't think he's worth what could be a top 5 pick in next years draft.

The timberwolves are steadily improving, I don't that pick will be worth what people are thinking it might be. Plus Gallinari really compliments Griffin very well with his 3 point shooting, spacing the court for Griffin's monstrous dunks!

They don't have the timberwolves pick in 2012 do they? I'd assume that means in 2012 it would be a Clippers pick. And the Clippers have improved dramatically.

No, they have the Twolves 2011 pick. But, it has a protection on it that is likely to be realized. So, Twolves will keep their 2011 pick and will owe their 2012 pick instead.

As long as Khan is GM of the Wolves, that pick will be top 5. If this is true, then no way in hell Denver can pass it up.

    15 wins last year
on pace for 19 this year
    Chasing 25 wins in '11-'12?

Love was a great find...but I would stop short of calling him a franchise star. Ideally, he'd be a Pau to someone's Kobe.

Beasley erupted in the first two months...but has since slid back to the inconsistent habits that dogged him in Miami.

This team screwed up the 2009 PG Draft horribly (Rubio, Flynn, then Ty Lawson - traded to Denver)*. 4 first round picks....and their "best" PG today is Luke Ridnour.

    * Passed on:
    Steph Curry
    Brandon Jennings
    Darren Collison

Everyone misses someone in the draft....but when you WIFF on FOUR first rounders? With numerous contributors (hindsight) available at those spots?

This team is a bloody mess. One franchise guy will change that...so they better hope, pray, and sacrifice chickens so that they land a guy like Perry Jones this April and he pans out to be a star at SF.

Otherwise, they aren't going anywhere with that front office.

Since Gallo is not better than Budinger we will get two first round picks

I actually like that trade if that happens. Clippers will be better in the next 2 years and they NEED a young promising prospect who can score.

Can't we offer the Clipps something better than Gallo for that pick?

    Two questions

How good is the 2012 prospects?

How bad is Minny going to be in 2012?

My guess is they are still a bottom team in 2012, and if the 2012 class is strong I would go for it if I were Denver.

    Not sure.

I would trade Aaron Brooks for that pick in a heartbeat! And I actually like Aaron Brooks.

Hmmmm, would love to horn in on that action to get that pick. But no way Denver turns down that offer, right? I mean, that pick could be the next Carmelo Anthony!

Clips need a SF so this would be a good move.

I think that 2012 pick my Minny will still be high too.

While I wouldn't classify Gallo as a "stud," if the Clips think he was worthy of the #6 pick in 2008, then the deal is not so ludicrous. They'd rather take a bird in the hand (a "legit"--in their minds--#6 pick player) than two in the bush (a potential top-5 pick in 2012).

I think it's a good idea for the Clips. Rather than gamble on the draft and the success of another team, they'd rather take a young prospect who's already a guaranteed talent. Surround Blake with young stars as soon as possible.

I think Gallo is an upgrade over battier & bud... he has the size and can score. I wonder if Morey has any plans on trading for Gallo
