Pierce Brosnan will play James Bond in the next 007 film, co-star Dame Judi Dench has revealed,

The 51-year-old will reprise his role as the suave secret agent in Casino Royale, she said.

'Despite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been tested as his possible replacement, Pierce will be doing it again,' added Dench, who plays M in the movies.

'It will be announced come the summer.'

Somehow I knew you would have disdain for anything 'cool'.

All of them, really? I had no idea. Next you are going to say we are mindless sheep for enjoying any of them.

I don't know Bond so therefore I cannot like him but then again it is a character that I don't want to know. I know people enjoy him and that's fine but I just cannot get into it. He may be a great character and some of the films are classics but I just can't watch. I still wouldn't say they all suck but then again I couldn't because I've never seen any.

Great news. This is the role Brosnan was meant to play. None of the other candidates struck me as James Bond.

Ther have been 20 Bond movies, and for all of them to suck you had to have seen ALL of them. Why watch them ALL when the first 15 or so sucked?

    You sir are a troll.

    Cretin.

James Bond is iconic, and the older Bond movies are classics. Especially with Connery.

The Bond movies are just getting worse.

That last film? I can take Halle Berry, no problem at all. But too preposterous: ice mansion? Come on. Some machine that changes your physical features to look like a completely different person? Come on.

What with The Bourne Identity and Supremacy, Bond will have a tough time getting a major audience. I'll show up for a matinee, but then again, maybe I won't.

No self respecting gay man could ever like James Bond.

Bond flicks are pretty cool. I've followed them since my parents would watch Sean Connery as the original...Roger Moore was who I grew up with, and although there have been others in between, Brosnan makes a good Bond.

As far as the movies themselves, there is usually something preposterous in each Bond movie...it's fictitious. Never meant to be plausible.

I have seen a docementary of architects building an Ice Hotel somewhere once a year.

How can you not love Bond? Classic chauvanistic man character. Saves the day and gets the girl. I'm glad that Brosnan is staying on. He is the perfect Bond.

Incedentaly, I love the Roger Moore era the most. So cheesy, so 70's.

You're right about From Russia With Love. That's the best Bond movie ever. But Live and Let Die?! C'mon, that's easily the worst in the series. Even Octopussy and Die Another Day aren't as wretched.
